I recently posed a suggestion in for minecraft that met with extremely lukewarm response. I believe the reason for this is that my vision for minecraft, and that of the community, are not aligned. So the question is, simply, when minecraft is finished, what do you expect from it? What features do you want to see in the final version, what kind of gameplay are you expecting?

I think it would be nice to have a few official mega-servers like MMORPGs have. It would be cool to have like 5000 concurrent users building on their own enormous tract of land in an insanely enormous gameworld. They could introduce transporters so that you could connect to friends areas easily using some kind of a section code.
Of course there are massive potential pitfalls to the system. Like what if 4000 people stop playing? What happens to their land? Etc. Perhaps the land could be temporary based on whether it is being used or something. Maybe people would have to pay a small monthly fee for their tract of land.
Still, I think if the kinks were worked out having some official servers could be really cool. And I'm sure a million people have already been arguing about whether or not this is a good idea. But to me, adding servers like that would make the game infinitely more enjoyable.
