Always worked in SSP and on SMP with Llamacraft or other plugins.
they "worked" on smp with llamacraft but the poured water didn't quite behave like it does in ssp. So if notch fixed them himself it's safe to assume they will now.
Also sometimes when u placed water/lava it randomly dissappeared 1 second after.

Watch MLP: FiM. It's awesome.

High-fives are a renewable resource, so there shall definitely be more.
Boosters work, but the cart your in can move alot faster than the booster cart, leading to old boosters not working right.
You lose speed ALOT faster in multiplayer. For example, i was on a booster loop where it boosted me like 20 times, and when the booster cart glitched off the track, i only kept going for another10-20 seconds. Whereas in single player with that much boosting i woulda been going for hours lol.
Waaaaiiiittt. Complaining that a bug isn't quite as severe in multiplayer? :biggrin.gif:
I don't think boosting was ever meant to be a feature.
quit bitching, if carts work then that is an improvement. don't go "oh it works but when i try to add stuff to it it doesn't add to it" be happy it got looked into.
Considering that this was mainly supposed to be a bug fixing update, it was a very bad one. it introduces far worse bugs than the ones that were supposedly fixed. my server lag and cpu usage have increased greatly, the boats are badly broken now, they do not seem to turn much better, when traveling in a boat, sometimes the chunks fail to load and I get stuck, and they can no longer travel up slopes of water like they could have before, which really breaks my canal functionality.
I haven't tried minecarts yet but i don't want to after hearing how badly they work too.
this update should have really cooked for another week or two. I would not normally complain about these things but not a single item in the SMP update seems to work the way it is supposed to and my server is very unstable now so i will have to keep it shut down until things are not running like garbage anymore.

I am not usually one to complain* but this update is the first time I can say I have honestly had my joy of playing Minecraft hindered. I at no point have ever been disappointed by any update because, frankly, I don't mind what's NOT added. People have complained about the Halloween update not adding HP and damage, people have whined about not getting mine carts in so many updates.
So many updates have come and gone, but the CORE of what I enjoy, that is mining and building, has always been preserved. This update makes it where you are CONSTANTLY having to multi-mine blocks just to get them removed, or you have to un-click and re-click constantly while going through things. This has actually detrimented what is to me the core of the very game I play, and thus has made it less enjoyable.
It doesn't matter if the game is alpha or under works. If the game isn't fun to me, it just isn't fun to me. If Notch did an update that caused that, well then it's him that caused it to stop being fun. By no means is this intentional, no I could not do better and blah-de-blah. A person can accidentally break your leg and do everything possible to make it better, but if you're leg is still broken, it sucks until it's healed. Until he fixes the mining, it's more frustrating to try clearing an area than anything else.
Hopefully things will get back to normality soon. I think the best solution would be to allow the downloading of specific clients and servers so those of us who want to stay on 1.2.0_02 could download that again instead of being forced to update when we run our clients.

You honestly compared video game bugs to Notch personally breaking your legs. Wow.
I like this game too, but you might need some time off. Go bask in the day-star or something.
while i agree with your opinion about it, as it is identical to my own, i can't help but be a little frustrated when every other block re-appears in multiplayer.

I have to wonder how in my analogy to "a person breaking your leg is frustrating in that you cannot use it until it's fixed" to "Notch personally broke your leg".
And since it was an analogy, it was not an honest comparison, as an analogy is: a form of reasoning in which one thing is inferred to be similar to another thing in a certain respect, on the basis of the known similarity between the things in other respects.
I will make a list for you, so that you can pick whichever you desire since that one I used seemed to spark some odd outburst from you.
It would be like having a car with a tire that deflate erratically but often enough you need to stop every gas station to inflate it for proper driving.
It's as if you have an axe and while chopping on a tree, the axe head sometimes flies off and you have to go grab and reaffix it to continue.
It would be like your shoe laces coming undone while walking and you have to take time to relace them every so often or else be tripped up.
Perhaps it's like every fifth snickers bar you eat has cashews and nori instead of peanuts and caramel.
You could consider it as if someone virus'd your PC and every so often remapped your A and D keys to the opposite so you strafe left instead of right.
I don't know why you seemed to focus on the 'broken leg' aspect of an analogy when the point was to illustrate the frustration with having your ability to do or use something diminished without it being your own fault.
As "bugfix" releases go, this is pretty terrible. I hope I can revert to the previous server version without ill effect. It was at least stable. This version is disconnecting users left and right and has crashed TWICE in 3 hours (not a hard crash, but a couple exceptions pop up, then no one can connect.)
sometimes you gotta break things to fix other things, and then you have to go back and fix the first thing, coding aint easy, yo. Notch has to manage 2 different builds of the same game, and has to get them both working , while also implementing new features, new stuff is going to break old stuff, that's how an alpha works, a beta is for ironing out all the bugs.

This update just broke more things...I'd rather be playing pre-Nov10-update right now. At least most things worked before...at least, stuff that REALLY mattered. I can barely play this anymore on multiplayer...
Dammit, you bumped this, and I thought there was another update out already. Your glitch is known one, and something we can't fix yet. We're all hoping for Notch to send another update out to fix it. Build your tracks around render distances.

It answers a couple of questions and explains exactly what the bugs are, and what they look like.
Hope this helps if anyone's curious. :smile.gif:
It happens in boats as well.
