I've seen some pictures of people that have like glass forts underwater where you can walk in them on the seafloor and they're filled with air, not water. How do you do this? How do you place the glass then set a room up so its filled with air and not contained with water?
Go to the surface, build a solid wood plank structure to the size you want.
Once you have it to the size you want, coat it in glass.
Once it's completely covered in glass, dig under it and chop out the wood. You now have an underwater glass structure.
So if i wanted a giant cube I'd go to a flat surface and build it out of glass under wood planks, hollow in the middle, then dig out the wood and dig it down until its underwater? This doesn't make sense to me since the blocks would stay in place/arent affected by gravity.
I just built a huge tunnel under water, but this would work pretty decently with a room and what not.. it would just take more time.
I basically built some blocks under water, and put ladders on them. This way you can pass through that square and water won't fill in that block. I built my structure like that, then enclosed the tunnel/room (you won't have to do the floor if you don't want to) filled in the water with dirt, then destroyed the dirt and the water is gone. Remove the ladders and boom.
Depends on how deep you go, and whether you do it during day or night hours.. but there's a lack of light down there. During the day time and using fast graphics instead of fancy helps (i think, not positive)
But you can make these small sectors of light to help you.. The water will not be able to flow into the torch and put it out.
Build a huge dirt cube underwater, coat it in glass except for a doorway, then destroy all the dirt. This is because dirt (well, any solid block) deletes water when placed.

Building houses underwater takes so long lol, I can't wait till sponges... hmmmm... on second thought sponges might be bad unless they only sucked up the non-pick-up-able water (idk the official name) because if not, then griefers would be able to destroy lakes and oceans.

That's what I do anyways.
= Water
= the Wood you catch on fire
That make sense?

EDIT- lol sorry if I got a bit off topic
And neither do ladders. Stairs are your friend.
