Me + A few other friends over at TSE. Have figured out how to make an Infinite Lava Machine.
(Please note that this could be patch in the future. If not even tomorrow) But as of right now it works like a charm and we use it in our Obsidian factory.
This is how you build it. (The basic Design.)
The green is where you place the Lava Springs (You need 3 in total). The glass is just there for looks.
The green is the same green in the first pic. (Left and right sides) Please note that the no Lava is actually flowing from the top down, its blocked off by another block.
This is what it looks like fully "Running" and working. Please note the Single Step blocks. You MUST stand behind them in order to actually pick up the lava.
Make sure you click exactly where my crosshair is at. Basically, line up the vertical line on the top of Lava while you are standing behind the single step. Then right click.
Volva! You have your self a working Infinite Lava Machine!
I can do this with my 1x1 2 square deep water pit . not exactly sure where I click its beat the wall, But it takes the top layer and refills, normally it does not refill.
Put your hand on a hot stove for a minute, and it seems like an hour. Sit with a pretty girl for an hour, and it seems like a minute. THAT'S relativity.
Well after a quick test the verdict is yes it does work however i suspect notch will be fixing this glitch.
if you follow the instructions exactly it works

....... Are you guys serious? I honest to god thought this was common knowledge. F***. I too made my own Obsidian factory at one point, but then I put more thought into it and realized it's easier to cast the obsidian where I want it rather than make it in a factory and spend 15 seconds per block. Much more efficient that way. Though I'm sure the obsidian factory still has its uses.
This worked for me perfectly, just set it up like in the picture and put the lava in to its three slots, THEN, destro the cobblestone ontop of the two lava slots on the bottom of the spring, and the top will refill it, I'm gonna try this with water now!
I found this out when i first started playing, purely by accident lol. When there are 2 whole blocks of lava on top of each other, if you take from the top where the spring is, the bottom whole block causes the top to regenerate. And so you have an unlimited lava supply.
do a normal 3x3 pit such as:
[] [] []
[] [] []
[] [] []
Then place 2 blocks in center:
Side view:
[] [] [] []
[] []
The bottom row of soil is the ground, the 2 soil in a row is the first centre block level.
Top View:
[] [] []
[] []
[] [] []
Place the lava spring on top of the 3rd block, then once the lava has fully spread, remove the 3rd block and wait 5 seconds for the lava to fully fill the empty space where the block used to be.
So:
Should then be:
[]
Which will do:
Then just keep taking from the top with your bucket and it is never ending :biggrin.gif:
Also works with water. I do this design as a water fountain or lava fountain for builders.
Can anybody else confirm this?
I just tried the lava fountain (as described above) on SMP tonight, and it worked great. It's very easy to do, and only takes one block of lava to make an infinite number.
Our server has hey0 on it, and some bucket fix, but I don't think we have llamacraft.

Fun Fact: Red and yellow make orange.

And as I pray, INFINITE LAVA WORKS
Fountain of youth, says it all.
