Let us keep bugs within a single thread, so that there are not multiple repeat threads.
Obviously there are going to be a bunch of issues as Notch has already stated, but we have to identify what they are so Notch can fix them eventually.
If you could list how the bug was created, as in what you did for the bug to occur, it would likely also help.

- Mining will cause blocks that have been already mined to reappear a few seconds after words. This occurs for all blocks. The block will also disappear after words as well. You can sometimes get a second item from the block that is re-spawned.
- Lag. It occurs with map generation as well as chatting. Players will also lag where it seems the teleport and zoom around.
- Map Generations can occur really slowly, to a point where you will spawn into a new map, and fall to your death several times before it spawns under you. Slow map generation can occur while exploring too.
- Unable to edit blocks near the spawn (may be caused by high amount of individuals by the point?)
- Can drop a tool and pick it back up on full durability
- furnaces wont smelt items, they will also consume the items that are put into it as well.
- sometimes unable to pick up certain items that were mined.
flip-flop switches dont work, came across a massive restone deposit, and couldnt make a lock for my door.
some things will stay permanently on (doors).
the actul wires (redstone on the ground) is very buggy.
pressureplates will take ages to light up a wire, (this is not lag).
red torches seem to have a 50/50 chance of working PROPERLY
parts of redstone wire will light up randomly and vise-versa
also i would like to point that blocks not dissapearing or reapering after being destroyed, is just lag. On a private server with only 2 or 3 people this doesnt happen at all. I REPEAT THIS IS NOT A BUG ITS JUST LAG!
you will have the best SMP experience with a few mates on a private server.
My friend's internet keeps crashing after playing for about 5 minutes on my server. It's not his router, just the internet to his computer. Probably a problem on his end, but regardless this shouldn't be happening.
I've seen this happen on older systems due to an overflow of network data, I suspect this to be the case. Yes, his system is old, but it doesn't happen on any other game (even really demanding ones) and it doesn't happen on the old minecraft.

Not really a bug but signs are client side as well.

Also noticed a lighting bug in one area (was pitch black, broke a block, and surrounding area was fine -- same as early infdev).
Water works for me.
Lava too.
Doors are a bit buggy. You have to punch them for the server to consider them open, it seems. Otherwise they won't let you through.

Drowning/dieing in lava, so far under the lava respawns you when you die...in the same place, with half your hp.

The spawns are fixed after restarting minecraft.
