Hi.
I recently just set up a Minecraft SMP Server for me and my friends to play on. However, when I try to connect using my external ip (182.239.xxx.xxx), I get "Connection timed out: connect".
This is strange because connecting with my loopback ip (127.0.0.1) and internal ip (192.168.0.2) both work fine.
Even stranger, when I use http://www.yougetsignal.com/tools/open-ports/ to check my port, it shows that my port is open and my terminal shows "[INFO] /69.163.149.200:57230 lost connection".
This seems to be a problem with the Minecraft client.
Can someone help resolve this problem, so that I can connect using the external ip?
Thanks in advance,

(I'll give you a free internet if you have an internetometer account)
Tell me, you have a server. Do you have another computer you are using as a client? if so. Just use the internal IP. it should be 192.168.0.~ but it could be different. Check the status/details of the local area connection (or wireless) the server is using to connect to the router/switch.

I am using the same computer for testing, but my friend will be accessing the server from somewhere else. I know I could probably make this work with a VPN, but I don't want to have to do that...
My wireless connection is fully functional (seeing as I can post this message), and a port checker can connect to the server.
Again, I believe this is a problem with the client.
