I hope to join this server. I'm a pretty good castle builder, and I would like to offer my services in building them, and other buildings, if people wish for my assistance.
I have been a part of a few other RP servers and do like to RP. I am pleased to know that server has an organized civilization and currency! I like how you have to buy land to it just makes it so there aren't so many random buildings all over the place. I would like to join your server if there is still room.
I'd love to join. I've always been a huge fan pf Rping ever since I started with Runescape and I also love Sandbox games so this seemed like a perfect fit. I'm also on a few other Minecraft RP severs so if I start griefing you can spread the word. My IGN is Bugabear.
Big mistake.
One of them has to be the person that set the spawntown on fire; maybe KPJCK?
He made a spamtower on top of his house, and a spam tunnel to the bottom of the map.
And he dug into my cave, thought it was uninhabited (despite all of the torches), and raided the chests and ores.
You guys are right, I can't let anyone in. For now on only people I trust and their friends are allowed in. Anyone that has been on the server and helped out a lot will definitely be whitelisted again.
anyone that I noticed breaking rules, and let them slide will not be allowed in. like KP
The first is pretty obvious, we need restrictions on mining, but something as light as only allowing mines outside of cities, is not going to work. People need permits to mine, because mining is quick and destroys the land, if we do it to much, we'll be standing on a hollow world.
Permits allow for one mine, and only one, and we could also figure out a way to make sure they didn't have some huge tunnel system, because it'd defeat the purpose of having permits if they could just get one, and then mine EVERYTHING.
A permit, since gold is obtained through mining, would be obtainable in trade. So people could hand over a thousand wood planks or whatever. I'll go more into detail and help refine the rule if you think it's a good idea.
My next thought was that cities were FAR to close to one another, and FAR to easy to start up. A city should be an undertaking, it should NOT be taken lightly. Also, people just build as big of cities as they want to, we need restrictions on the size of cities. For instances, if I want to build a city, I'd need to trade over, let's say 50, gold. This may seem like a lot, but trust me, people seem to find gold a lot. Plus, you are starting a CITY, not some small village. Second, there would need to be size restrictions, people can just go off willy nilly and build a massive city.
Distance would also be required, going from one city to the next should be more than just a few steps and poof, it should be a bit of an undertaking. Imagine what would happen if we got further into the RP, and suddenly war broke out. Cities would be to close, it'd be ridiculous.
Also, trade shouldn't only be in gold and redstone, it should be in resources and product to. I should be able to make a boat, or harvest wood plank, and use it to get something else I cannot get a hold of. We need to put limits on what people can do, so trade is needed, if everyone can do ANYTHING, what's the point of having money at all? Besides to get more land and build a city.
Like I said with mines, we should introduce a permit system.

I will also be adding mods. I will pm the people who I think deserve being mods, and can handle the server from the people I played with. Me and Niggle will decide.

Only the spawntown was set on fire, don't worry.
Plus, yours is -------, so it's almost impossible to find it without directions.
And like Niggle said, there's some odd TNT holes surrounding the area.
