Damn, I was having a good time too, other than a few random thieves there wasn't really a problem with griefing yesterday. Me and Dosu had all the groundwork laid out for Lost Islands and everything :sad.gif:
Ah well, it was however quite fun and a fresh start is a fresh start. The mine rule sounds a bit restrictive considering it's the only way to really get materials, but maybe actually having set mines being a better Idea? If you guys need any help whatsoever let me know, if I'm still on the whitelist anyway.
Edit- I like the permits idea, and the price of towns needs to be higher, also as a secondary you maybe need at least 2 other people to form one, the price shouldn't even be remotely obtainable within a day.
Good idea, so maybe like 500 gold? And four people? Or a specific resource, not dirt or wood planks, in the thousands, depending on the resource?

yes so u might have a 10x10 house with a mine of 10x10x60
Cool, but let me toss a scenario out:
John has a seven by seven house, and begins mining. After a bit of mining he finds gold, but John cannot mine the gold, he'd need an 8x8 house to even start on that block. He does not have the money to expand his land.
Can John simply mine the gold and then fill the hole back up? Or should he have to wait until he can expand?

if its a 2 block gap the yes he can mine it but needs to block it up after
Okay, then I had another question about cities. Can they only be built on solid ground? Or could I build a neat ass city in the sky? Or on the ocean? Or underground?
Also, city limits? There should be a limit on how big someone can make their city? This limit could expand with the cities population if needed.

city in sky: yes
city on ocean: yes
city underground: yes
city limit: ask trider via PM
Should there be different prices for the permits? Should the permits be exclusive to a type of city? So an underground city would require the permit to build one, which would cost more than a permit to build a city on flat land, because you're surrounded by your own mine. A city in the sky, in the ocean or on the ocean could cost less because resources are harder to attain. Also, an underground city could not be built near a public mine.... well... the fact that cities need to be far apart will handle that.

But wait! We need permitz... can't break our own rules. That's the path to downfall.

So i just finished reading every post on this forum, so like we have to...
1)Start over cave crawling for gold, redstone, steel?
2)We lose our citys?
3)We lose those beast diamond items you gave us for ALL that HARD WORK(suggestive words implicated on purpose).
I like the idea of being able to rework some of our designs for our citys/houses. But honestly losing those tools and the like 2 hours on my city I just don't like the idea I spent like 6 hours yesterday since you put me in, and I know this isn't gonna do anything, but im just putting in my two cents. Fairness or not, i think the idea of giving me, fate, and whoever else made a city and earned your godly diamond tools from the randomly generated sky back cause we worked hard enough at first and awhile, and its just not fair that we lose them. :/ but i do realize its not fair to new players and others in general that we get those tools and they dont and you don't like spawning stuff. But like i said this is my two cents.

I think you are right. I trust you, Neveras, and Fate enough to let you start off right when we get in game. But you must listen to the new rules when you make your towns. And I would like to make you and Neveras mods aswell
Thank you for understanding my argument Trider. I fully respect all the rules and you for doing this for people. I'll make sure my city is completely in the rules and won't misuse anything you grant me.
When do you think the server will be up again? I saw thursday, friday, saturday. I'm soooo addicted to your server! =) haha

most likely tomorrow afternoon or Friday afternoon
Just read over your ideas. I like them all except outlaw idea. Just makes it too complicated. Permits is a great idea, although it has to be an item that other people can not get. I guess we could use wool for one of the permits. and maybe obsidian? for a mine permit? we'll figure it out

The outlaw idea was something for more further in the game, when factions have established themselves.
Permits would allow for business, limiting what a person can do. With each permit you purchase, every other permit goes up in price to prevent people from purchasing as many permits as they like. We'd also need some way of tracking what permits a person has, I was thinking the use of signs would be good, that and possibly a list that a mod or admin has for keeping track of who has what. And finally, we need to make sure people are not breaking rules, so we'd need like... police or something.

I've never really run a server or really opened up MC, but I imagine anything that's unobtainable in game can serve as a permit. Alternatively if we go with the website Idea a dedicated post with what everyone is entitled to can be a big help.
As for the moderator position, I will gladly accept. I love the concept of the server and it was an absolute blast playing that first night. Anything at all I can do to give a bit of help, I'm more than willing.

I love RP. Really. I really want to find one stable and good. thanks.

You can ban, kick, teleport to players, and teleport players to you(This should rarely be used). And your name is blue :tongue.gif:
