I tested the minecarts a little, it works almost similar to SP, but one MAJOR problem is that you CAN'T REMOVE the minecarts you placed. Boats share this same problem. (Tested on a vanilla server; no mods or plugins)
Let me know if i'm wrong.
Can we have items like cloth and the nether blocks added to the Iconomy shop? It would be great to be able to use a wider variety of blocks.
Anyway, i'm glad the updates keep coming, and I foresee that the server will be great at the end of the day. :biggrin.gif:
P.S. Can any admin please fully protect places like Atlantis and Orbis? Some blocks are still unprotected. Atlantis has been flooded like what, 6 or so times already? I hate to keep plugging the leaks along with others all the time. Apparently someone stole a chunk of Orbis as well. @[email protected]
You're right ZD, minecarts are stable, but currently indestructible. The solution that people seem to be implementing is to create tracks to minecart burials when they are no longer needed. Because I envision creating a public works system that will loop and return through all the cities, I don't think we'll need the ability to destroy the carts, at least in the capacity described above.
Also, YES, we need some admins to log on and take care of some protection issues. I know mine and some other user's sites have been protected against them, or are lacking protection altogether.
Anyways, good luck to JAD, hope we're online soon.
Hey guys, Brilliant server me and my friend are new to Minecraft Online anyway, And absalutely love the community in the server, We've made a few things in it now, And have seen some of the work others have spent a LOT of time on, Brilliant community, Just want to say thanks, And that we'll be back in it tomorrow continuing our work.
Just curious, which configuration of "perpetual motion" do you all harness in your SP minecart projects?
I use a single flywheel cart, boosted by dual carts that act as transformers; a system i developed myself through experimentation. On SP, its lifetime lasts for 2 mins 20 secs, and resets itself after the momentum reaches breaking point. I wonder if it works as well in SMP though.
Anyway if we are to develop a train station, count me in as well, I would love to help. :biggrin.gif:
