ALRIGHT, I REALLY NEED YOU TO GIVE ME TIME BLOCKS WHEN YOU'RE AVAILABLE ON JUNE 1, ALONG WITH TIME-ZONES AND WHETHER OR NOT YOU MEAN AM, PM, OR WHATEVER. PLEASE DO NOT NEGLECT THIS, SINCE I HAD TO DISCARD OVER HALF THE TIMES PEOPLE POSTED BECAUSE I DID NOT KNOW WHAT TIME ZONE THEY WERE IN OR WHICH PART OF THE DAY THEY WERE SPECIFYING
And in those five time blocks I was able to use, there were only two people who were ever online at the same time. Really, people. IF YOU HAVE SIGNED UP FOR ANYTHING, POST WHAT TIMES YOU ARE AVAILABLE RIGHT NOW
The events will begin at 18:00 UTC/GMT+0 and end at 21:00 UTC/GMT+0. The schedule, and some other notes, are as follows:
Spleef Tournament --- 18:00 to 18:45
The amount of matches depends on how many people actually show up. You can find the Spleef arena by following the blue line from the spawn point. Special thanks to TrueWolves for building the arena!
Building Competition --- 18:45 to 19:45
The (eight) contestants will have one hour to build whatever they please in a 20x20x32 space. Contestants will not have access to water. The location of this competition is in the corner, directly between the Spleef arena and the racetrack.
Griefing Competition -- 19:45 to 20:15
In this competition, contestants will compete to try to grief the structures created in the previous competition. Note that this is not simply a deletion contest, like was thought before. Contestants will be expected to vandalize, defile, and otherwise soil the buildings from the previous competition, and will be judged based on creativity, severity, and offensiveness. EDIT: Just as a note, for all you builders who don't want your work to be permanently morphed into giant penis towers, the server map WILL be saved between the build compo and the grief compo, so if you want to keep it, you can.
Obstacle Course Race --- 20:15 to 21:00
This competition will be a series of 1v1 races, in traditional tournament style. You can reach the racetrack by following the white line from the spawn point. Special thanks to RealG, raquzzic, DragoonEnRegalia, and Animator for building the race track!
WE WILL BE ACCEPTING 'AT THE DOOR' APPLICATIONS FOR PARTICIPATION IF WE FIND WE ARE SHORT SOME MEMBERS FOR ANY COMPETITION! IF YOU DIDN'T GET THE CHANCE TO SIGN UP, GO TO THE SERVER TOMORROW AND YOU MIGHT BE ABLE TO FILL A SPOT LEFT BY A NO-SHOW!
The Signature Wall
The signature wall currently has a truckload of names on it, and if you want to add one more for yourself, you can reach it by following the red line from the spawn point. It's recommended that you sign on the ceiling (and make sure that the shadow cast by your signature is a solid rectangular shadow), or in some of the small areas of the floor. Like normal, if your signature is deemed to be too big or obstructive by any of the ops, it can and will be removed.
Some other rules for the events
[*:2mcr5nvj] Vandalizing the signature-wall will result in a ban, no questions asked, first offense. Unless you're an op or have specific permission from one to remove anything, don't touch anything unless you're signing it yourself. Don't sign over other people's signatures, or build things that block the view to the wall.
[*:2mcr5nvj] IF Notch arrives, we don't want people harassing him with questions or trying to follow him around all over the place. If you want to talk to Notch, this is not the place. The place for that is decidedly the official Minecraft IRC channel on Espernet. He'll probably be there.
[*:2mcr5nvj] Please try to minimize pre-tournament practice on the race track. It's okay if you set up a few practice jumps elsewhere, but we don't want to have some people who demolish everyone else because they have more experience on the track.
[*:2mcr5nvj] This is for the ops: Please do not abuse the /say command. Doing so will result in your status as an op being removed. /say should only be used for Con-related announcements.
