Right now, there is a sever lack of good roleplays. I used to play on NewFrontier, and that one was fantastic, but died out. So, I've decided to make my own ruleset, heavily based on NewFrontier. I don't have any way to host this for now, so I am also looking for that. This won't be very organized for now, and will contain a lot of my ideas.
RACES:
I have decided to leave races out, for now.
CLASSES:
There are going to be 3 classes, each is good at a fairly general talent, while only okay at the others. This requires interaction for maximum efficiency.
Builder:
Builders can make advanced structures. Most commoners can only build simple 1 story houses and shops, but builders are able to build without limitations. This makes them a pretty creative class, as there is a lot you can do.
Warrior:
TBD
Gatherer:
Gatherers, instead of gathering on a 1:2 ratio, do so on a 1:4. Also instead of getting 15 for a full tree, they get 25. They can carry 3 trees instead of 2.
Farmer:
Farmers get an advantage when harvesting plants. The flour the mill from their flowers is twice as effective, and they get 10 wood from a shrub compared to 5.
GOAL:
Ah, this is definitely needed. A goal provides direction, and promotes teamwork. Levels are definitely a thought, and that you have to work to get levels, and there are many ways to get them.
RESOURCES:
The normal ratio is 1:2. As in, deleting 1 stone block allows the placement of 2. Trees are a bit different. You can either cut down an entire tree and get 15 wood, or separately collect the wood and leaves.
Gold ore is gathered 1:1, but 5 is still 1 storage block.
Gatherers get more resources than anyone else. Their normal ratio is instead 1:4, and complete trees garner 25 wood. Gold does not change.
Normal people can only carry 25 resources or 2 trees, but gatherers can carry 40 and 3 trees.
Farming:
Do to the lack of trees near Industown, I'm gonna make a way to farm.
Farming is pretty simple, and can be used for various purposes. To farm, dig up the ground around the spot and the spot where you are going to farm, then replace is along with your plant. When the grass on the spot where the plant is grows, then the plant is fully grown. You can then harvest the plant and repeat the process. If you plant flowers, they can be harvested then brought to a mill to make flower. A single harvested flower is enough for one loaf of bread, but it takes more for more complicated recipes. If you plant shrubs (the little trees), then when you harvest them, you get 5 wood each.
The farmer class has a pretty big advantage. A single flower is enough for 2 loaves of bread. They also get 10 wood each.
Seeds:
To farm, you need seeds. Each tree you cut down drops 3 seeds, which can be represented in storage as white cloth. When you plant, and later harvest your plants, each will give you 1 seed, so to make a bigger farm you need to cut down more trees.
Storage:
Storage works pretty simply. 5 buildable blocks means 1 block in storage. So, if you mine 5 blocks, which is 10 buildable blocks, then you can store them as 2 storage blocks. Storing blocks is REQUIRED, but it is also suggested that you keep a record, either with pen and paper or your computer.
COMBAT:
Combat is kinda interesting, as it is mostly freestyle. It works like this: When attacking anything, you start by rolling a die of some sort. 1-3 is a miss, 4-5 is a hit, and 6 is a critical hit. There really is no health system. After you roll for yourself, you also roll for the monster (which acts the same.) Its always good to roleplay this of course. When you defeat a monster, you collect their spoils, whatever that might be.
and finally
RULES:
-Always talk in character.
-If you need to talk ooc, use (( and )) tags around you message.
-Repect ops
-Follow all of the above rules!
-If you want to add something to the game, ask beforehand. It will probably be approved.
While I doubt we would have high towers at all. (I was thinking medieval ages.) I do like the structural idea, and will probably implement it.
Actually, I think I'm going to try out your server.

Okay, for now I have a test server provided by Tyoko. http://www.minecraft.net/play.jsp?serve ... 78bf9b3068
Please join and help the testing.
Okay, any comments so far? I also really need some hosting
PLAYERS:
Darkebrz - Builder
Tyoko - Farmer
WHEN EVERYTHING IS FINISHED, THE SERVER WILL BE RESET
Actually, I think I'm going to try out your server.
I keep saying I'll change it.

:S
But the idiots are hogging up ALL my bandwith..
>.<
Gah.
Minor changes to resource gathering to make a base of 5 work well.
Will be up later.
Oh, sorry Bluebear, there were so many people ;_;.
Im going to work on farming now, which may or may not be class specific.
You can now be a FARMER. If you want to be a farmer, just ask to switch.
