Nothc has tweeted some achivements he is making refer to the 1.8 thread for a list of them

One of the new achievements that will be coming in the 1.8 update is to kill a skeleton from some certain distance. This was on the discussion thread, btw, so i don't know if this is confirmed.

no, it's kill a skeleton from 50 meters with a bow and arrow. the "shoot the moon" thing he couldn't work out.
