My achievements seem to get reset whenever I update or install mods (i'm gonna backup the files next time) but recently is the first time i've been trying to get all the achievements without any mods or server commands or special maps that let you get them all very quickly.
It's not too difficult, but getting all the Iron and Gold for tracks for 'On a Rail' is proving very difficult (so far my railway is only 0.2km, started today but should be finished in the not too far future hopefully) and I just found three saddles in a dungeon chest, so with any luck I'll have them all legitimately completed soon enough!
So that's my question, do you try and get the achievements for yourself on pure vanilla, or do you use special maps or mods to allow you to get them more easily?

When Achievements first came out I was super hyped. But after seeing how little there were I just sort of blew them off for a kind of "minor" addition to the game. However Notch has confirmed that he will be adding more, so once those come out I will probably try those legit.
i already cheat more then i want, lets just do 1 thing fair *cheats 1.000.000.000 powered rails and a minecart and asks self after placing why didnt it worked?*
Used mr_grandtree's special map! He rocks! :biggrin.gif:
No sir, you rock.
On topic, I used my own map that I used cheats to make to get the achievements, which i have long since lost. I still play on 1.3_01 because I hate the stats with such a passion that I refuse to play 1.5 or higher and the latest before that that I had backed up was 1.3_01. So yea...
I see i have tried that and i tried it but i could not get that saddle i did the railroad thing in about a day but that one saddle is insanely hard (thats what she said) but its a great challenge. Try doing it online with all of your friends its really fun :smile.gif:. just the fact of friends getting mad when you steal there stuff.

You'd be better off to upgrade. If you don't like the statistics just ignore them.
Why would you cheat for achievments? They do nothing for you, noone ever sees yours, and most of them are really easy. Plus when you screw up your minecraft file you need to delete the bin and the achievments are gone anyways.
