No achievements for either dieing or doing the same things multiple times. No Craft 250 torches, no kill yourself by falling, no kill 10 creepers. Other than that I wouldn't mind those
What dont you like about those? I think they would be okay.
Any achievement for doing the same thing many times is just boring. The make 250 torches one would be easy to get but that isn't the point, achievements should be fun challenges not mindless chores. Betrayal (get a creeper to kill a hostile mob) is a good example, it takes planning and skill to execute and once done feels like you have got something, craft 250 torches takes no skill and is just "yay, i clicked the same button 63 times... woo". Notably I also don't like the "on rails" achievement that we already have for the same reason but it at least requires a bit of thinking (how do I get a minecart to keep going for 1000 blocks).
As for "kill yourself by falling", that's just a consolation reward for failing it's kinda like "well Ralph, you may have failed at but gluing things by eating all your paste but it's OK because we are all unique and special... have a gold star for trying". A much better (IMO) idea would be more like. Achievement Get: Why am I not dead? Fall for over 100 blocks without receiving fall damage when you land.
Same idea as the die from fall damage one but requires a bit of thought and learning and give a sense of "I just did something cool and got rewarded for it"

I agree with you "Bright Idea" is just one I popped off of the top of my head, it was the 1st or 2nd one I put on, and for "Woops!" I think you make a good point, but the fact that everybody avoids doing it may make the possibility of having "secret" achievements, like on the Xbox360.
But then you have the issue that most people don't actually like hidden achievements, they'll just wait until someone posts a list of them and then go out and do them. Also, if there was a hidden achievement for dieing, I'd be even more pissed at the game because it now seems lie it's taunting me for failing like a schoolyard bully who trips you and then says "nice walk you have there". Nope, achievements for failing will never get my support

There no of your achivement but me idea are here :
Sorry, there no name for now :sad.gif: :sad.gif: :sad.gif: :sad.gif: :sad.gif:
I think that's a great setup.
Add a few more items in there, like making bricks, etc... and it would be perfect.
I agree with a lot of the achievements which have you do something once (like get a diamond, build something, etc).
Not so much the killing ones, there's an achievement for killing a monster, that's enough.
And no repeat ones (250 torches). It should be about doing something for the first time. Not the hundredth.

I think that if you fall off of something high enough to kill you, you would be so pissed off that you would need a little bit of gratification, either way, its not like the achievements give you "gamer score" or something like on the Xbox, so why would it matter if there was an achievement for falling?

Each to their own. Right now if I fall off something high enough to kill me I either think "DAMN, that was stupid" or "WTF? I was holding shift" and then I go get my stuff back but, as I said, if the game then popped up and achievement for it I would be thinking more along the lines of "did minecraft just troll me? What the hell minecraft, stop picking on me"... or something. I just really don't like the idea of getting a "lolz u fail" achievement

Look ma' no hands! - kill a mob without the use of your hands (like getting them on a preassure plate over tnt)
Get You One! - get 5 wolves following you
I THOUGHT THEY WERE UN-BREAKABLE!? - ruin a complete set of diamond armor
Life of the party - craft 5 juke boxes
ITS ALIIIIIIIVE - kill a pig turned into a pigman from being hit by lightning
Tape Worm - eat 25 raw porkchops
So... Soft... - get 100 wool
Friendly Fire - get a skeleton to kill a creeper, a zombie, a spider, and another skeleton
SON OF A... - get killed by a skeleton rider
ITS CALLED FEEDBACK SON! - kill 50 ghasts with deflected fireballs only
These are kinda cool ides but a few of them...
"Look ma' no hands!" would be very hard to put in cuz LOTS of animals walk off cliffs and die but what if you pushed one off a cliff cuz it would be hard to make the game tell if you pushed it off the cliff or if it walked or if you pushed it then it walked off a cliff and seriousely not every one plays off peacful (they just build and they have no fighting expiriance) (i am not one of them)so getting TNT would be kinda hard...
"I THOUGHT THEY WERE UN-BREAKABLE!?" and "Life of the party" WHO WOULD DO THAT
it wold take 29 diamonds! TO GET BOTH OF THEM BOTH COMPLEATED AND WHO NEED 5 Juke BOXES
"SON OF A..." Seeing a skeleton jockey is a once in a blue moon thing and you might not be perpared to die. You might be like a 10 minute walk from your spawn holding 29 diamond :biggrin.gif: so if you died there you wold loose 29 diamond if its like a 5 or more minute walk from your spawn.after about 5 min your items will disapear and if you choose to run like hell or fight you would probly never see one again cuz as i said finding one is a once in a blue moon chance
"ITS CALLED FEEDBACK SON! " how about 1 ghast... SERIOUSLY who would be able to kill 50 ghasts with their ballZ (:biggrin.gif:) only.if you killed lets say 10 with their ballz(:biggrin.gif:) and then you killed one with a bow and arrow(YES ONE ARROW, ANY EPIC GUY COULD DO THAT) would that make the count reset?
other than those few i think thats a pretty good list
