Here's my issue. I've spent all day making this big huge track, perfectly flat, no turns or ups or downs, i've tested it and it's definitely longer than 1 km. And yet when i travel along it I don't get the Achievement.
That's incredibly frustrating as I spent all day building this thing. And all day yesterday gathering the materials. And I could have spent my time doing something productive. Is there any way to fix this?
A guy i know had the same problem, he said he spent all day doing it and it didnt work.
can you get achievments from world to world or does it stay in one world?
do the achievments work for stuff you already have done? like "place 2000 blocks"

I have all the other achievements, so they've all worked up until now.
i made a track long ago about 5 weeks ago almost 3km long. and after they introduced the "achievements" i completed them in a few minutes (5 or 6) so yeah have fun getting achievements if you havnt already :-D
Question: Has anyone tried walking 1km from your spawn point, laying down a few sections of track, and then hopping in a minecart? That would be 1 km from where you started, wouldn't it?
As easy as all the rest of the achievements are, I find it hard to believe that this one is this time consuming to do.
I've only been playing for a week now, but I've done a ton of mining and didn't have near enough iron to build a 1km long rail. All the rest of the achievements I had plenty of supplies to complete. Thoughts?

nah, you build it near your spawn and place STRAIGHT tracks to the 1km point

= spawn point
= rails (100m)
= 1km+
Yeah, I got it finally...I must have been really tired when this bit of brilliance came to me.
What gives?

A mysterious force pulls towards the eggs....

When I looked up how to complete it, someone thought that you just had to have 1000 track pieces, but this wasn't right.
If you watch the youtube video below you'll see that I have used many more than 1000 track pieces to finish the achievement.
My track also was 1.51 KM long which means it doesn't have to do with the track pieces, but to do with the x co-ordinate.
