I have a "fun" world where I have a hacked inventory and infinite HP to mess with. After messing with lavas and TNTs for a while, I checked the statistics. The result is a mind staggering numerical value: 3,332.
I think this is a bad stat, seeing how it could misrepresents a player's skill. It could be a good idea if Notch removes it altogether or better yet, implements a toggle button to turn stats on or off. Do you agree with me?
lol misrepresents a players skill??
dude your the one using hacks and infinite health, that certainly proves you are of, less skill, than people who don't need it. i', just saying, you can mess with lava and tnt without that stuff, and that would prove your skill if you're really concerned about it!!
Sand is WAY better then a diamond sword. What's better than diamond? Nothing.
But sand is better than nothing, right? Diamond < Nothing < Sand. Thusly, sand is better than a diamond sword.

Well you're a good man Albert Brown
And you was wounded in the war
And though you shot some people down
You're still a good man Albert Brown

Dude, you don't mess with blastissimo's skill level.
and what about the part where he is complaining about misrepresenting skill level. if he is really worried about it, he will have to sacrifice skill with fun i think.
personally i couldn't care less if i had 30000 damage taken..and i'm a "skilled" minecrafter, if you can even be bad at it 0.o

Being a gaming elitist that I am, it bugs me when people considers me a noob when I'm not. It's true that I ignore certain features of this game such as farming and redstone, but I do not suck at survival. People will judge other based on their stats once they get displayed online. When they see my stats and my horrendously high amount of damage taken, they'll say, "Oh okay this guy sucks at Minecraft and therefore must be a noob. Let's treat him like one."
I might be exaggerating the situation, but that's definitely going to happen.
I think you might be confusing damage taken with times you've died. You can take plenty of damage and still live. In fact, it'd look great online if you had tons of damage but few deaths.
To give our children and future generations hope, we must destroy every child on Earth and never have any more. I have already started this misson, child numbers have been halved in my local district. Will you join the cause?

really...who cares, as long as you have fun, it really doesn't matter. it's the internet.
Why even bother complaining about stats anyway? I mean... So what if your damage taken is OVER 9000!! ? I like it, as it lets me see how often I fall to my death, take fall damage, get hit by flying spiders, snuck up on by creepers, zombies, or get sniped by skeletons.
So it's a number. And it's high. Big deal. Here, if it helps. Make yourself some diamond armor. :smile.gif:
Wait, so because you think the amount of damage you've taken being available for you and you alone to see, you publish the incriminating data in the form of you complaining about an optional feature, for everyone to see?
If you've taken more damage, you're obviously braver. I bet that people who have hardly taken any damage have just slept, all night, every night. A better measurement of combat skill would be a damage dealt to damage taken ratio.
I got a world with inf health(dunno why it has inf health)
So i was playing with lava and tnt...it must be really really high......
Let me check.... 9,202 damage 0.o Im very happy they arent public yet , looks like im reseting my stats soon....
