whenever someone gets somthing new i alwasy go thatsssssssssssssssss a nice *insert object* you have there obivously qouting creepers and of course i didnt make it up but that doesnt stop me
Video games? I think I may have done a Portal reference or two. But ponies, on the other hand, I have done many of those.
Aye, same here, usually. Don't play enough games to reference them, really. I did manage to make a crossover quotation involving ponies and a quote for Teal'c. "undomesticated equines would not keep me away from cupcakes" or something. It sounds less funny now then it did when I thought of it.
Occasionally I'll throw in MC references, since I work at night, when the sun comes up, I might say "oh thank goodness- soon all the skeletons and zombies will burn in the sunlight" or something.
Or one time I was trying to describe Megaman 2 to somebody, and was trying to describe airman, and I saying "well, they are very anguished- consider it- they only have the power to push others away" which was pretty clever. Or, it would have been, if I hadn't stolen it from The Mega's "Annihilation of Monsteropolis" track.
If I finish something really hard I generally quote Duke Nukem just for the hell of it. I do a pretty good impression of some of his more popular phrases (like "blow it out your ass").

Don't make many video game references unless the other party understands and can join in. However, I've made quite a few literary references. For instance, I've used "grok" a bunch of times, and I've spoken some Lapine before.
Edit: I haven't had the chance to attempt a Hitchhiker's Guide reference yet. I'm hoping to do so soon.
A couple times. Usually around those who will understand them even if the person I'm talking to won't. Got to work an inside pony joke when a mutual friend brought in some Applejacks (cereal) for a snack.

If a creeper walked in to my house, I'd either be cowering in a corner or unzipping my trousers.
I personally find it really annoying when people make game references irl, it just kind of makes them come off as pathetic in my opinion.
Mostly because of the way they single out the reference from the rest of their sentence. It makes that part of it sound awkward, especially if the person you're talking to doesn't get the reference.

New to MC forum.

I often reference Minecraft when going caving in Oregon, which my family and I do often. I make references to AI War, TF2 and Portal 2 occasionally as well.
Quoting things is one of the most obnoxious and socially awkward behaviors possible. It is only acceptable if you know for a 100% fact that the person will get it and it is actually funny (not just funny in your head).

Powers are for the weak. I have no powers. I mean - unless you count the power to blow minds with my weapons-grade philosophical insights. I'm a thought-o-coaster, I'm the conundrummer in a band called Life Puzzler.

Don't listen to tumbles, keep quoting. He's just got a really bad hangover.
I think its funny at subway when I make heavy sandvich quotes. Some people would stare at me as I say "Daloknhesss Saaaandvichhhhhh...."

Where do you think I use the "Gear in the rear" quote :wink.gif:

On the bus to school: they play music, spray axe everywhere, reference a lot of stuff..

Also, I call people "Meatbag" alot. Thumbs up to who gets the reference.
