What I don't see about the US is why they are taxing the poorer middle class, while promoting the rich. They're ultimately eliminating the consumer and the producer, as some may be poor. They're just making them lose jobs. The "job-makers" haven't been making jobs so far and only wallow in more greed. I mainly don't like the idea because it promotes greed.
What are your thoughts, OT?
Edit: Some have informed me that Democrats also do this, so in a whole, what do you guys think of American politics?
I think you've got that backwards. The republican school of thought is to lower taxes for every bracket, including the middle class, and then have the wealth trickle down. Democrats usually raise taxes for every class, although go after the wealthiest tax brackets the most. Their school of thought being that social programs funded by the tax money will help close the wealth gap. In practice though things rarely work as intended. No republican is going to tax the middle class more without also raising taxes for higher brackets. That would be retarded. I don't know who you think does this, OP, but I've can't think of anyone that has.

Only a Mac vs Pc thread can out-flame the potential this one has.
I'm independent so I vote for whoever makes the most sense. Right now the Dems are slightly winning me over, but if they don't stop laying down and letting the Repubs have their way with them, I may just go 3rd party next election.
Lots of bull from both sides. More from the Repubs at the moment right now though.

Fascists running under a false flag.
On the other side of the coin, Democrats are just puppets for their 'investors' and 'campaign funds.'
I see a road traveled many times by many a people. It is a shame I will have to go down it too, soon.
I shall not involve myself in such a repetitive squabble beyond this post.
Because republicans believe in 'trickle down economics' which basically means if the rich are rich they will pay the poor to do stuff. IT doesn't work for the population. It doesn't trickle dawn, it stagnates at the top. And becuse most republicans are in the rich they dont care because "well if it works for me, and everyone I know, it wust work for everyone."
Its really a rement from a left over time when the rich had morals and a system like that did work.

Look it's big red text!
Now that being said. Ponies.
I'm pretty sure the Republican idea is that all people should be taxed equally. What's wrong with that? Our country is founded on equality.
I'm talking about what the US republicans are doing this moment.
They are taxing the poor, laying off on the rich. They believe that if they give the rich people enough money they'll start making jobs, and raise up the lower class. So far it has not been working so well...
Dunno, I'm registered Republican. Thing is, in my state you have to registered as a party to vote in that party's primary. Ours is a largely democrat state, and very poorly run for it. However, in Nat'l politics, both parties are pretty much the same as far as I can tell. Every bad thing each one of them says about the other is true. And that's why I avoid national politics. But locally, I tend to trust the Republican candidates more than the Democrats, but that's mostly because of the weight and corruption of the Democrat establishment here.
As for blaming the Republicans for taxing the poor and giving to the rich, sure, they do that. And so do the Democrats. It's what the Fed does. It also milks the rich it fattened up to try to pay off its stupid, retarded expenditures of war and social programs, so I don't know if anyone can really claim innocence with a straight face while keeping their soul intact.
If the government takes its hand out of industry, you'll see a rise in productivity. But that's not happening any time soon, and tbh, it's not just "Republicans", that's just a title that you can append to one group of the bunch. When people take from one group and give to another, it makes one group "Superior" and one group "Lower". It's a lot like aristocracy you might've seen if you lived in the 1700s-1800s, poor classes in England and France existed in surplus because the aristocracy was, well, the governing body, who essentially ate off the backs of the people. Now, that doesn't mean that "Oh, tax the rich!", I don't support that, either. Simply cut government down to bare minimum for, well, government, which is, whaddaya know, a governing body that protects the interests of the people, and let the people take care of their industry, you'll have a good deal of productivity. Thing is, when you pay people for nothing, it costs money and it doesn't make anything happen. When government does that, it has to take that money from one source; all government revenue is from taxes. So, the most logical approach is to simply tax groups indiscriminately.
You should also note that the government cannot create wealth; so if it (instead) gives to the poor, (which it does in spades by the way) each dollar it gives has overhead, usually more than a well run charity. What's so strange about this situation is that the 'Republican' idea of reinforcing the banks and other wealthy parties so that they don't go kaput and bleed a billion jobs is not really a conservative idea per se, but is Keynesian, the idea of the government spending to create economic growth. I guess the difference is that the Democrats think you can spend on the poor and create economic growth, whereas the Republicans have an equal delusion involving the rich.

Well that's what the Democrat brochure said.
EDIT: Aw, you changed the title from "Republicans" to "American Politics." Now I look anti-American.

I thought most republicans were the ones who were super-religious?

Fox news is Pro-republican.
Watch The Young Turks (TYT) for a "truer more straightforward" approach to news. They are more on track than Fox Propaganda and MSNBS.
That's only a guise.

I know, though some of them are actually very religious
No, that's the religious right. There are also NEO-cons and libertarian republicans. I am the latter of the three.
Class Warfare. Hah.
