I was in a McDonalds one time a couple of years ago, behind this guy with a very heavy, what you would call, Texan accent. He was trying to get one of those supersize deals they dont offer up here. The cashier at the front tried very hard to explain that its not offered in Canada, but the man and his wife wouldnt have it. They believed McDonalds was operated the same around the world and could not understand that the supersizing of meals wasnt popular outside the US and wasnt offered. He yelled and hollared at what I believe to be either the Assistant or Manager of the McDonalds before storming out with basically a free extra meal instead.
Now to my understand, the idea when Americans go abroad is that when they dont comprehend/understand or dont like something, they simply get louder and while I found that was a misconception, being in the States in Florida a year later (at Disney World) actually showed that this is actually a very accurate stereotype. (I dont mean to say all Americans are like this). SOME Americans are simply rude by nature. THey believe they are entitled to be served whatever they want whereever they want and when they dont get it, they make it known.
It seems you guys are just used to living in a country where the average person is rude to one another. This is coming from a person who lives in a country where at a stop sign you and another lady spend 2 minutes offering to let the other go first.
I know a few Americans who are a pleasure to be around, but it seems the average American is a rude bigot.
Sorry.
This is actually generally, sadly, true. The only time people around here stop and tell you to go is when they don't know the rules of the road. And Americans do generally tend to be obnoxious when travelling. It's very unfortunate.
But you have to realize, the person in question is a Texan. Texans tend to be the..."special" people of America.
Nah it's true. S'what happens when you're country is nothing but narcissists. I mean hell...you can't go anywhere without hearing..."the best country in the world".

General impression of Americans is that some of them love their country far too much. For example, the person who created this thread. It wouldn't happen with any other country, only USA would create a thread looking for compliments and be surprised when they get very few of them. A lot of them also seem to think they are superior in many aspects. They have to be the biggest and the best at everything or else they'll just completely ignore it. The healthcare system is poor. They are too afraid of socialism. Not that Socialism is realistic, but it has some good points which should be adopted. Also guns, too many Americans feel the need to own guns. America seems to have terrible crime, and let's be honest, it would be lower if guns were illegal. Like here in the UK and parts of Europe.
You make good Movies, although on the whole TV in Britain is More to my taste, especially the comedy and dramas. Your food and customs are strange, though so are Scotland's, so that doesn't matter too much. I never understand why you hate the letter U so much and feel the need to exclude it from so many words. Also your government is a little hypocritical. The BP oil spill for example they made a huge fuss when the US have done far worse with chemical leaks killing thousands of people and causing deformed children and making areas unsafe to live in in India and other countries.
Most Americans I've met are alright people, with a good sense of humour, although they often try and mimic a British accent and fail horribly.
So yes, in answer to your question, that is what I think of America. Don't try and change my opinion.

I think they're the laziest country to ever exist. Don't do anything but sit in a confy spot until something nudges us.
Economy commiting suicide? Screw that, I'm busy playing games!
People dying of starvation? Trololol, I was lying when I pledged to help!
Soldier dies, saving 50 people? Rebecca Black's more important!
I'm ashamed to be an American myself.
You just said it all, man! I would rather live in spain or Italy. (I can speak enough spanish to communicate with people if i need to. As for Italian, i heard it is similar to spanish so I could probably learn it quickly enough.)
Bet we really can't do anything about the economy because the idiotic government of ours is in charge of that! And we can appreciate the fact that soldiers die for us but the government is the one sending them to war. A when we know there are millions dying of starvation, all we can really do is take them in and help them or organize a shelter system or something like that.
An American here, and honestly can say F* America. From what I have seen, and heard on the internet and from a close friend that lived in Europe for a year. Less than five years ago, I would agree that the USA was great, but that has changed drastically from corruption.
Funny thing is I am going into the Airforce Reserve, and the only thing keeping me sane through it is saying to myself that my family(son) live here. And I want to defend him, if I had no son I would have no reason for joining other than making money.
I like the country (landscapes are gorgeous) and some of the people, but there are so many idiots over there it hurts.
While in NZ for a camp, I convinced some Americans there on holiday that there was a tunnel from NZ to melbourne (where I come from), we breed kangaroos for a living, the 1st gen ipod (as in, first EVER ipod) was released about 2 weeks before I was in NZ and velvet is illegal because it contains various hallucinogens. They have been around my age (I'm 17) but still, their stupidity and gullibility was painful.
1. I speak better English that most Americans. (Yes, I know it doesn't come from the USA, but you have to be impressed.)
2.
When I went to America for a short while, I was allowed to study at an elementary school for a couple of days just to learn how their system works. I felt insulted there. When I said that I was from the Philippines, one student asked "What part of India is that in?"
The students, and some teachers, were biased against me. It was obvious that some teachers were talking in a way that was mocking me. The only teacher that was kind to me was my English teacher, because she was surprised that I could fluently speak English.
The students were horrible. There were these kids that called me a monkey, so I broke one guy's phone by kicking it from his hand. (iPhone, *****) I overhead this girl talking about me, how I ruin the world because of my religion and blah-blah-blah (They thought I was a Muslim.) I wanted to 'slip' and spill my milk on her, but I didn't want to get another strike.
In the end, it was all worth it because... **** it. America is a horrible place. I have never known a country whose people are more racist/meaner than America.
3. In the Philippines, we're so awesome, we eat developed (AS IN, IT HAS A HEAD AND IT HAS LEGS) duck embryos. In America, they eat boogers. :|
I didn't expect this much hate in the forums against USA, - I thought a majority of the community here were Americans. I think America is fine; I mean, I'd like to go there sometime - and I would, if I could.
Because there are all the "cool guys", like Tobuscus, other YouTube celebrities and in general, just celebrities.
The forums are more European/Asian/other Continents that America.
Americans are the worst, they kill their land, they have a horrible economy, and they're all selfish bastards, yes, ALL Americans are selfish bastards.
I'm really sorry, but I laughed a lot at that. You sound like some ******** news scam that's trying to scare everyone. I mean, come on. How does the USA deserve it, when it's not their fault? It's the governments fault. All they do is lie and lie, saying this and saying that, just to cover up all the **** that's going on.
Not every American thinks like you think they do. America's education system is horrible, and that's one reason why a lot of people are dumb. Another reason is because again, the government tries to put a blanket over everything, hiding it from the public.
There are nice Americans, there are bad Americans.
There are nice Europeans, there are bad Europeans.
All every other country does is make fun of America, when over half of the people that make fun of it haven't even been there, or haven't been educated on the country.
There's a simple rule to follow, don't talk about a something when you know nothing about it. You'll just make an ass of yourself.
Yes, America is pretty shitty now, but so are a lot of other countries. I'm not saying America is the best, because it's not. But that doesn't mean you can go and say "America sucks blah blah" when you know nothing about it.
Most people that know even a little about America can say at least ONE nice thing about it, even if there are 20 bad things.
EDIT: I'm a bit late on this argument, as I realize you're arguing about China and America now.
I totally agree with you, everyone judges the worst in America. But not everyone here hates other countries, thinks only of themselves, is lazy, etc. There are people like that, but the entire US isn't like that.
Americans are the worst, they kill their land, they have a horrible economy, and they're all selfish bastards, yes, ALL Americans are selfish bastards.
Not sure if troll, parody maker, exaggerated serious or serious serious.
It's so funny how many Americans simply jump on what I know and start their "it's not true" and repeat it until they believe it, you are the blind ones, I don't really care what happens to America. The sooner it falls, the better we get to recover from the economical downpour.
You're kidding yourself if you think America collapsing will fix the world's economic problems. Do you even realize how many countries depend on, or trade with, the USA? Or that America is still a major world power?
Even as I type this 10 families just got kicked out their homes by their bank.
Actually, they get kicked out by the police and the real estate agencies commissioned by the bank. "Kicked" isn't exactly the right word either. They're given a month to leave, and the banks are usually pretty generous with extensions as long as the former home owner can prove that he is trying his hardest to move out. You aren't taking into account the number of "walk away" families either. That is people that willfully forclose on their homes because they are worth less on the market than they're mortgaged for. It's easier to take the credit score hit and not owe the bank anything than to sell the house and still owe the bank money.
Thank god I live in Canada. We actually -PRESERVE- our beautiful land.
I know this was on the first page and 11 pages of comments have passed since then, but this is too funny. It's almost as if he doesn't know canadians sell their land to oil companies to **** the earth for oil.
America just invades a country and does the same thing. At least Canada does it in a Gentlemen's way of destroying the earth.
The French are good at this as well. Tres chique.
But Canadians are part French. It explains the share in tactics.
I didn't know there were both "polite" and "despicable" ways to kill the Earth. America is hardly the biggest imperialist anyway, at least territorial and resource wise.

We don't invade countries until they **** up oil reserves we already own. Also, there's no gentleman's way to lay miles of pipeline that kills natural habitats and its inhabitants.
