You pay $500+ for the pc, Xboxed are only like $300. Sure you get $10 off games on steam but so what Xboxes can buy games used for $50 off somtimes. Oh and did i mention you have to pay another $200+ every 2-3 years just so you can play games smoothly? A new Xbox will be be coming out in 2015, is paying $300 every 10 years that bad?

Because PC gaming has better graphics, more uses, more controller options (KB+mouse, gamepad, flight stick), and better online (suck it PSN, you can't take down the PCN, aka the internet).
Plus, do you want to be using the 360 till 2015? Moore's law will have laid the smackdown on the 360 by then.

they are also made by the same company... your argument is invalid.

If you thought I had anything useful to say
-Xbox is for gaming and a few other things. Nothing more. A computer has far more options besides that.
-You can completely customize the specs of your computer. You can't on an xbox. There's also thousands upon thousands of PC models in both portable and desktop forms, and about 3 for xboxes.
-PCs can download games from the internet and can also install games off discs. Xboxes can only download games. They can't play a lot of games without the disc.
-There's only one crappy, paid voice chat service for the xbox. There's tons on the PC that are both great and free.
-You can write programs on computers. Can you do that on an xbox?
God, I hate that argument, yes, we know, it's a bit cheaper on the consoles, but you're paying $60 a pop for a game, when we have a hundred + hours because we got mods.
PC is MUCH more versatile, that's why, there are more controls, more graphical options, we get mods, better servers, tons of things that the console could only hope for.
Now, don't get me wrong, there are hackers on servers, but you just gotta find a dedicated server with measures to prevent hacking.
By the way, the mouse and keyboard is much better than a controller, because it's more responsive.
And dude, Console gamers LOVE convenience, they can come home, flip the 'ol console on and play, they don't want to go through settings and such to get a balance of graphics and framerate, they want to pick up and play, that's why COD does so well, because it's Pick up and Play, PC gamers on the other hand, have an appreciation for graphics, we like seeing a beautiful world.
Not to say we don't like to play, but really, I don't want to play COD 8-bit, but a PC isn't meant solely for gaming, it's easier to stay at one place than to move around.
I prefer mouse and keyboard. There is a wider variety of games on PC (unless you own all of the platforms). I only buy a computer every 5-6 years or so, until I really can't play the new games. I've had this comp for just about 3 years now with no signs of slowing down. Plus I can easily upgrade it for $300 or less to get it just about top notch. A lot of games can be modded the way you want (although a lot of companies are starting to get away from this so they can pump out shitty console ports fast and make $$$$$...thank you CoD), which makes them more fun than the cookie cutter style you get on consoles. And of course better graphics. I don't even own a console, and wonder why anyone would spend the money on one. And by the way, when consoles come out they are almost always $500, it takes a while for them to get down to $300.
You don't get things like Minecraft in the console world.
Anyone can develop for PC's. You have to kiss major butt to be allowed to sell a game for a console.
Consoles are limited to those annoying, hand hurting controllers for the most part.
PC games are much more moddable.
PC games can be played at a higher resolution, up to 2560x1600.
and again,
You don't get things like Minecraft in the console world.

And lets not forget dual monitors, better sound system (2.1 speakers are cheap, cheaper than a home theater sound systems), customizable controls (love my g700 wireless gaming mouse), and the wide variety of different games, controllers, and headsets.
PCs have consoles beat, which makes it sad that we are seeing the "consolization" of PC games (example: See crysis 2).

You could just build a computer and get it cheaper.

The last console I played was a PS2.
I found the playstation controllers to be too small.
I've just used a mouse and keyboard so long, it's just really awkward to use console controllers.

Oh, to the guy up there who talked about buying computers and xboxes, build your own. Mine is from 2005 and will probably last me 15 more years, untill either its versitality goes obsolete or I buy a supercomputer. Runs everything and is very fast.
When life gives you lemons, don't make lemonade. I don't want your damn lemons! I'm the man who's gonna burn your house down! I'm gonna get my engineers to invent a combustible lemon that burns your house down!
omg u guys r so stpud obviuosly since the xbox can play games smoothly at a good prcie it better cuz u dont havfe to pay more money just so it can run
This is what this guy is complaining about.
Please, just leave you stupid troll.
In the off-chance you aren't a troll, you call us stupid even though you fail to spell properly? Let alone use grammar?
Because Steam games update more frequetly as in case TF2 comes out with new guns,Hats,Maps and more. While Xbox comes out with Market Place items say only every 5 months,And you can get mods and addons on pc,with xbox live you can't. Also because theres alot more games on PC like Flight Simulator X for example.
Please, just leave you stupid troll.
