I'm going to Minecon, and I'm probably one of the very rare people that have attended last year that is this year. I'm a little concerned about how Mojang is going to handle my 2 capes.. Hopefully I don't lose the first one or something like that. But before I get into the cape buisness, which is concerning, let me tell you some things about myself and Minecon.
Last year, I went with my older sister to Minecon 2011. We had failed to buy tickets before they sold out. That really sucked because we were going to buy them the next day! Somehow, my sister found a pair of tickets from someone and his girlfriend that couldn't go and we were set! We drove to Vegas(we live in California, not horrible) but we could not make it to the opening ceremony since my sister had to work a little and faked a headache so we could go early. Anyway, it was lots of fun, badly planned for the crowd though, so I'd expect that they will take care of the issue this year.
This year, I'm going with my dad to Paris for Minecon 2012 but sadly he's a Minecraft hater. Similar to last year, we failed to buy tickets.. so my dad found a person on eBay and bought 2 tickets for $350. So far, we got the tickets and airline tickets ready, but still no hotel or rental car(in progress). I'm very excited, I mean, Paris! I've never been outside of the U.S. before in my life, not even Mexico or Canada. Well, reason for that is because I never had a passport until now.
Yeah, that's my story, in its simplest form.
Btw, if you want to find me there if you're going, I'm the guy in the Minecon 2011 t-shirt.
Update #2:
(November 24 @ ~1:15 P.M.)
So I just got out of the opening ceremony, my video camera lasted 50 minutes which was about the whole thing, I just missed the sponsors on the video camera. After it died, I kept going with my regular camera which shoots decent video(1080p). Just came up into the room to charge stuff, so I'm heading back down to the convention!
Bonjour!
I'm pretty sure Bonjour means "Hello" and "Goodbye." I meant goodbye.
Update #1:
(November 24 @ ~12:30 A.M.)
Registered, technically yesterday since it's after midnight. I got the badge and the goodie bag. The badge is not nearly as impressive as last year. Lasy year, your name and username was printed on the badge and this year, it just says "Attendee." The goodie bag was awesome for me because it includes a free Minecraft account!
I cant drive to Paris like I did to Vegas...I live in California...as for the capes, Im more happy they allowed toggle cape feature in the game, so people don't have to keep pestering me...and yeah, last year was understaffed, and not well thought out, lines were long, the events often costed money, had little fun, or just took an hour to do for 5 min(xbox). The panels were my favorite part by far. It was great to meet Captainsparklez(he signed my mousepad) and BlameTC. I hope you all have fun who get the fun of going again this year!

Hey, you there. Yeah, you. If this post helped you, why dont you give it a +1?
Sup dude! I was there last year and I'm going this year as well. Hit me up bro, MCKingCreeper on Skype. Also if you read Mollstam's tweets, they're working on a way to handle / switch on and off / between both capes!
