My post office is already closed today, so I will mail the letter on Monday, but here is the letter:
Dear Mojang AB,
My name is {Confidential}. I’m 13 years old. I’ve been playing Minecraft for over a year now. Not very long, but I play it non-stop. My Youtube channel has TONS of Minecraft videos, and a few other games, but mostly Minecraft. I was very excited for Minecon 2013 because I live in the U.S.A. and have wanted to go since Minecon 2012. I was constantly on www.mojang.com watching for more Minecon 2013 news. I waited and waited and it finally happened. They were here.
Saturday, August 3rd at 1:59 P.M. Central U.S.A. Timezone I had the page open. It read 0:00:15. I got all excited, and I kept my hopes high, but low at the same time. 0:00:10 I felt nervous like I wasn't going to get tickets. 0:00:08 I opened the page. 0:00:07 I refreshed the page, and it had the drop down and amount of tickets available to order. It was exactly 2 O'clock. On the nose, my dad clicked "2" and then "Order Now." It was on the in-line phase. We were there until 2:03 when it said pending. We refreshed the page multiple times, many times it had the drop down for quantity, we clicked 2, and order now, and it went immediately back to pending. I was confused by this. I really wanted to go to Minecon. I had an alarm on my phone for 1:50pm, 1:59pm, and 2:00pm. I only had this day because I was out of town the other two days. I waited and waited, I became worried I wouldn't get tickets, and here and there it went down to the quantity part, and the order now part, but it went back to pending. I never got my tickets. We constantly refreshed the page until they sold out. I never got my tickets, the tickets I really wanted more than anything. It said "First come first serve" and I was certain we were near the firsts, but we never got served. I waited the whole ~30 minutes waiting for it to have my tickets on it, the tickets I could call mine, but I never got them. I don't understand why I didn't get tickets. We did everything we could, and still no tickets. I was really looking forward to this, and my dad promised last year that if we got tickets, and Minecon was in the U.S. this year, we would try our hardest to get tickets. Yet try as we may, we never got them. Our hardest was not hard enough.
Sincerely,

Think about it this way. Had you gotten a ticket, it would have been at the expensive of somebody else. It's really not that big of a deal. There's not going to be any secret news that only those who attend get to hear. Minecraft will still work. The important bits will be broadcasted.

It's possible that since everyone was rushing to get the minecon tickets, the server traffic backed up, which timed out your transaction. Sorry, bro, stuff like that happens.
When you have thousands of people all trying to grab a small amount of tickets all at the same time, the chance of your request getting in before others isn't all too likely. It's just how it is for every major event, really. All you can do it just try and try again. After three tries, well, that's all you get. Nothing you or Mojang can do about it.
I AM SO SAD I WAS CRYING ALL DAY CAUSE IT WAS THE LAST BATCH AND I DIDENT GET I GET ANY TICKETS DARNET I FINALLY HAD THE CHANCE TO GO BECAUSE I LIVE IN GEORGIA AND NOW I HAVE TO WAIT PROBLY YEARS TO HAVE ANOTHER CHANCE
Im don't mean this in a mean way but....
Mojang can only have 7500 people. Thats the max the convention center can hold.
Getting the tickets was all luck and chance, since the spike of all the minecrafters in the past year, so many tried to get tickets.
Last year tickets took a while longer to sell and they were not expecting it to happen this year.
Don't blame anyone not even yourself. There were so many people trying to get this tickets, it was horrific.
Im sorry you guys didn't get tickets, but it wasn't mojang fault or even eventbrites at that fact. Some people have faster internet others don't. You could have just refreshed earlier.

Actually, they only rented out the Western side of the convention center. But with all of the money they have dragged in, they could have rented out the entire town! That's actually what I thought they would do originally. Hopefully next year!

Its definitely terrible how much of a challenge to get a ticket was...hopefully next year they opt for a better ticket seller. everbrite's servers kept overloading and where obviously not prepared to handle the community that is minecraft.
The reason Mojang capped the tickets at 7500 is to keep it on a more personal level with the attendees.
I was fortunate enough to get a ticket, it was like winning a lottery. I'm honestly getting tired of people complaining that they didn't get tickets, the sales are over. Mojang will no re-sell their tickets nor will they release more. Just wait until next year!
You have obviously never tried buying tickets for any major event before. Large concerts sell out just as quickly, and it's just one of those things were only so many tickets can be sold because there is only so much space, and it's not really anyone's fault that you didn't get a ticket.
Mojang even sold batches at different time zones to try and make the ticket sales less biased to one region. It was fair and the sales method is resonable.
I got tickets, but it is probably the fault of the people buying the tickets just for the cape(who won't get it) and people who are intending to resell them. They should have made things MUCH clearer about how the cape works and the fact that the tickes are non-transferrable.
While the batches were a nice idea, I doubt very much that anywhere near 7500 people will actually be there. That kinda screws over honest people who wanted to get in.

All of the money? They operate Minecon at a loss, and they're only bringing in $1.25 million in ticket sales. That's nothing to organize an event like this. Have you been to the convention center?

Hey dude, I live in Georgia also and I'm going. I'm really sorry that you didn't get tickets, but look at it this way. Watching the videos means you get to see everything, from a better viewpoint, and at your house. While you might not get to meet people, I still think that you will be able to experience it.

It doesn't matter if you live Halfway across the world or across the street from the Convention, it doesn't matter. Why people also go upset was since each back sold in 3 seconds, some people have different pings and connection speeds. When you only have 3 seconds, nano-seconds mean a lot so for some people, the tickets were sold out before the page even loaded.

If only you had been paying attention to Dinnerbone's Twitter...
Minecon tickets were released on 3 different days, all of which are now sold out.
Don't be mad at Mojang but instead be mad at those who only bought the ticket for the cape.

Yeah, I agree with everyone else, they should have at LEAST rented somewhere that could hold 20000-30000 people.
It's MINECRAFT, one of the most played and known games in the entire world.
Plus I hear the website was horrible, no captcha's, meaning bots could steal all of them.
