There is a big difference between difficult, and just anoying. Hard is things [...] fighting a wither
Except the Wither isn't hard. No amount of strategy or skill can save you in the fight, as the poor combat system combined with nearly undodgeable attacks mean that skill has no effect on the battle. This means you HAVE to rely on gear to save you through the fight, which therefore means that the fight isn't difficult as your actions have no control over the battle, only your gear. I wouldn't say fighting the Wither is annoying, since it's completely optional, but it's definitely not hard. (For me it's annoying that Mojang released him like that but what have you.)
The rest of your post I agree with, though. At least Mojang is listening to the community, though, even if their execution is bad...

Did something happen to you in your childhood to give you this unreasonable fear of rutabaga?
Wrong, and you are quite naive (and wrong) to think "cracked users" are a bad thing.
I am so glad I read this during lunch at work, and had to wait until I came home to respond. This response will be much more measured and rational than it would be if I had gone with my first impulse.
I want you to remember this phrase: "There is no such thing as a free lunch. Someone else always has to pay for it."
Crackers are thieves, pure and simple. They are leeches attached to the gaming community, who are growing fat through on unearned entertainment, parasites who harm their host through their actions.
Do you like DRM? I certainly don't, but it's because of crackers that the damn thing exists. Every time I have to jump through hoops to play a game I paid for, it's because of crackers who believe they are entitled, because they exist, to be entertained for free. DRM has gotten more and more draconian because of crackers. Game developers have every right to enjoy the fruits of their labor. But because of crackers, I have to suffer, while they get to enjoy a game they didn't pay for.
Do you think games are too expensive? I certainly do, and it's because of crackers that games are expensive. Because when I buy a copy of a game, I'm also paying for four thieves that are playing the game on cracked clients. I am not made of money! Even if I was, I'd buy the game for friends and family, not some unknown scumbags who can't even support a game they enjoy! Thanks to their actions, far too many games that I would enjoy go unbought and thus unplayed thanks to these criminals.
Do you enjoy innovative gameplay and new and exciting stories? I certainly do, and game studios have become more and more conservative, playing it "safe," thanks to crackers. If you knew 80% of output would be stolen right in front of you, would you take the risk? Not many would, and thus we keep getting the same derivative works, most indie game developers go out of business, and it's all thanks to crackers. They are the death of innovation, a drain upon creativity, because their actions steal the fruits of game developers.
Would you like to see minecraft continue to be updated for free? I certainly do, but cracked clients are a threat to this. Minecraft's continued development is funded exclusively through its sales. Each sale helps pay for the salaries of the development team, and each cracked client takes away from that. If every single cracked user would support the game they enjoy by buying the game, then Mojang could afford to hire another member of the Dev Team, getting updates out that much faster, killing bugs that much faster, and improving the game that much faster. Each old bug that's in the game that hasn't been fixed yet is because crackers are draining away resources that could be used to fix it.
Crackers aren't just harming huge mega-corps, they are harming each and every gamer who supports the games they love by buying it. It is not "naive and wrong" to think cracked users are a bad thing. It is the truth. Cracking is theft, pure and simple. And they aren't stealing from faceless corporations, but from their fellow gamers, who inevitably pay the price, either through struggling with DRM, or through high prices.

1) I have to semi-agree here, I personally don't think you need much gear at all (bow; preferably with power 5, but 2-4 is probably fine, and sword; diamond, perhaps with some smite or sharpness on it) and then you just cheat and build it into a spot that it can't escape easily, and boom, instant win. So yeah, wither isn't really that hard.
2) Otherwise yeah, I like the idea that Mojang is trying to add things people want, but I am afraid that they really are not the most skilled at knowing how a game should work. I could say that Notch was better, but I am not sure he was, he made a great game, but to say he had a plan where this game was going? I don't think I could agree with it, but unfortunately, jeb and dinnerbone don't really seem to have a plan either...
Kinda awe inspiring that this game ever became something...

Huh. It's both too easy and too hard at the same time? Doesn't exactly seem possible to me.
its easy to get food and animals and its hard to survive at night makes tons of since if you think about it dude this update just caused problems they should have not made a new launcher [that every one hates (idc about it very much it does take awhile to open minecraft now)]
also carpets are wool really lets make carpet its wool get over it
horses don't die against zombies i was on one and i died and my horse lost about 1 heart they don't die
So if I take a picture of an Apple you grew, and have a magic machine which produces an exact copy from molecules in the air, and I eat it, that's theft? Ok.
I'd say that 3/4 of people who pirate wouldn't have bought the game anyways, 1/4 go on to purchase it, 99% advertise the game in some way and increase sales.

Point is, it's a horrible rebuttal.

Yeah...
Probably a better illustration out there then robbing a bank, but, heh, it is what I could come up with

Maybe so for yourself. Others have terrible luck.
> New launcher just causes problems; everybody hates it
No, it doesn't. A good majority of what was done in this update was to improve the Mod API when it is eventually released. The launcher is very helpful for those that switch between versions constantly, like myself, because some servers are slow to update to the new version. The only "bad" thing about it is that aesthetically, it's a bit lacking, but that can be improved. Also, seeing the console is very useful for myself, as I know no other way to see it.
> Carpet = Wool
Yeah no. A key difference is that Carpet doesn't burn, and can be placed on transparent blocks. (hoppers, glowstone, signs (?)) Useful for all sorts of things.

I ran out of ideas when thinking of hard things in Minecraft. The wither is just an item check at the moment. The only thing I myself find hard in Minecraft is PvP(if the player is hard enough), and that's it. The things that Mojang are doing right now to make Minecraft "harder" is worthless. They need to change their idea on making the game harder. For example. Lets say they made cavespiders spawn in caves, so they are not just A.M.M.S.S., or I should say, Abandoned Mine-shaft Monster Spawner Spiders. That would make the game harder.
So if I take a picture of an Apple you grew, and have a magic machine which produces an exact copy from molecules in the air, and I eat it, that's theft? Ok.

Another reason I don't like it: we have to get a new launcher just to play it. I can download it, but I have no idea how to save it to my computer. When one of my friends exits out of the tab, I have to redownload it, and now my PC is slower than a snail in cobwebs.

From experience, without a Swiftness potion and if you're using a bow, he's always going to hit you unless you stop shooting. He fires too fast for you to shoot and move at the same time (i.e. you can't fire one shot, dodge an attack, and fire another) so you have to either fight or run (in other words, you have to fight).
With a swiftness, though, you outrun the explosions. From what i've seen of videos doing the fight without armor, the person simply quaffs a bunch of potions (regeneration, swiftness, and strength) and simply shoots him until he gets to the second stage. It's the exact same strategy I use, but when I don't use swiftness potions, I get murdered when I use anything less than god armor.

When you download it, depending on your explorer, you should have one of these things happen.
1) it just downloads and saves
2) it asks if you want to run or save
If none of these things are happening, check your settings. And it isn't the launchers fault, everyone but you seems to have no problem downloading it.
Wake up, it's 1.6.2, most bugs are fixed. Zombie hoarding is annoying, not difficult at all, and merely wastes sword durability, I agree. But 1.6 is NOT the "worst update ever". Additionally, I can smell a rising flame war here.

95% of teens would scream if Justin Beiber was about to jump of the top of the Empire State Building. If you are in the 5% that would grab a seat and some popcorn and yell JUMP! JUMP! JUMP! post this into your sig.
To me,the zombies new features added some feel of The Walking Dead. The 1.6.2 update is a some sort of bugfixes and perfomance boost. If its the worst update, will you keep playing Minecraft? If its worst but you still play Minecraft, this means it isn't worst. But to me,the 1.6 updates is 8.5 out of 10 for me.
Click that vote button of my post if you think 1.6 update is not bad as you thought.
Pretty damn useful things were added. Zombies are ridiculous, but that can be fixed and at least they're sometimes a challenge (cornered by two chainmail zombies plus two babies). 1.6.2 came out immediately with bugfixes. The rest of OP's problems are that they didn't add what he specifically wants, which would've just delayed the update. Why does this have 12 pages for what's basically a little whining about the update not being utterly perfect?
You might want to be more tactful then that... As that could probably be considered spam.

Yeah...
Nothing was taken, because it's not taking a physical object, it's just a copy. The second analogy... No...
I just wanted to give my thoughts on this topic; to the people saying who cares about the look of the launcher. When you buy a game, and install and and such, the first thing you will open will be the leuncher. It will be the first thing you see that is related to the game that you bought, so basiclly your first i press jobs are based on the launcher. If a launcher was just white with random pieces of coding everywhere, you would assume that the game is going to be terrible. That's why it's important to having a good looking and simple launcher, so looks really do matter in a launcher, especially for people who just bought the game. So yea, just my 2 cents
1) Nothing was taken, because it's not taking a physical object, it's just a copy.
2) The second analogy... No...
Ok, you paint a painting, I take a picture of it, and print it out, I then mass produce these paintings selling them for almost nothing (Note: these people all know that I stole this from you) you then try to sell your painting to pay to the paint (you used paint) and the time you put in, but you can't, because everyone already got it from me.
2) You disagree? Why?
3/4(or so) Of people who rob a given bank do so because they need money, therefor, they were not going to take out a loan anyways.
1/4(or more) of people (when they get out of jail) will still need a loan (for a car, house, ect.) and will go on to take one out.
99% of all bank robberies will give lots of publicly to the bank.
I fail to see how I am wrong.
