I think they should work on refining the stuff they already have, like adding colored glass a d making more uses for semi unuseable items such as gunpowder, slime balls, or sponge.
There is no justification for attacking someone like many of the posters in this thread have. Even if you think their arguments are the dumbest thing you have ever read, being a complete jackass and treating them rudely are completely unwarranted. IMO YOUR attitudes are more rotten than the original poster. Your indignation at their complaints is self-righteous, you whine about how they're being ungrateful for free updates which is a completely irrelevant argument and amounts only to character assassination of the OP. Instead of offering creative criticism, you offer scorn wrapped in elitist pretense. I'm getting sick of the miserable, snarky people in this community too. No one says you have to be a carebear but being nasty and insulting makes these forums a really unwelcoming place at times.
As for the 1.6.1 update: I don't care one way or the other. My only complaint so far is that the mods I used aren't working properly with Forge which isn't Minecraft's fault.

Freedom is more important than health, more important than safety or security. A life's worth is not measured by its length but by the length it is lived with liberty. Freedom above all.
Gold apple nerfs, zombies spawning within 2 blocks of me in full lighting, no crafting recipes for some of the horse items, horses can't swim, horses noclip, untamed horses can't breed.
Plays like a snapshot, indeed the "Worst Update Ever".
This. I have been trying to keep a village alive on hardcore for THREE DAYS. It's just not possible, let alone even remotely enjoyable. Assuming you manage to stay alive, you pretty much find yourself in an empty village.
To be frank, Minecraft zombies are now one of the more OP monsters in any video game, period. They spawn everywhere. They know where you are from a great distance. They spawn more of themselves, frequently, with potentially no limit. They come at you during the day and set you on fire during the attack. They kill and convert villagers. Why not just let them fly and give them a ranged attack while you're at it!
I am not amused by some of the minecraft community's complaining about minecraft. This game blah blah blah blah blah for FREE!
This was not a free game. Granted, I didn't pay a lot for it, and granted, the updates are free - but guess what? That's business. You don't get to 11million sales by offering a static product. When a game goes from good to less-good, that's an issue worth discussing.

I just simply block off the doors during the evening when villager head inside before Zombies start spawn. Villagers can't get out, Zombies can't get in. Then I use a bed to make sure, and fence off the Village during the day. Sieges have been broken since 1.4.7, so you're not going to get forced spawning inside the village as long as it's lit good.

You are being to generous to your subjects. You need to impose more draconian rules- for their own protection. Replace their doors with iron doors or stick blocks inside. Prevent them and their children from roaming the dangerous streets. For their own safety, of course.
It's for their protection.
OR you could be a wimpy leader and do what you did and try to protect them while preserving their "freedom". pssh. You saw how well that worked.
To be frank, Minecraft zombies are now one of the more OP monsters in any video game, period.
Hmm I don't agree. On their own they are pretty easy to deal with. It is in groups when they become troublesome, but really that applies to any monster anyway.
They spawn everywhere.
No, they only spawn in dark places. except during Zombie Sieges.
They know where you are from a great distance.
I love this, personally. You can actually get attacked by a monster without seeing them first if you aren't careful. Makes night-time journeys more dangerous too.
They spawn more of themselves, frequently, with potentially no limit.
I like this too.More incentive to use a better sword on them as soon as you can, as well as make sure you have a reasonable escape route at all times, as well as be observant after dealing with a horde because you know some zombies spawned somewhere. I've found it useful to block parts of the cave off as I travel moreso now than before. Some players use it to block off unexplored sections, but in this case I've occasionally revisited explored areas that I walled off and discovered a team of zombies frustrated at my wall-building. Better I discover them that way than have them compliment the texture of my brains at the top of a ravine.
They come at you during the day and set you on fire during the attack.
the trick is to not get attacked. If you somehow manage to not hear the 8 or so seconds of zombie hurt sounds as they approach you I'm not sure what you expect.
They kill and convert villagers.
They have to get to them first. I replace villager house doors with blocks and use ladders to enter through the roof. Also make sure all the houses are lit. Then again I also tend to just be in a village for a short time as I build whatever I'm using to get them to a location of my choosing. Zombie sieges can be a problem, but I avoid them by staying away from villages at night (can't have a zombie siege if the village isn't loaded).
Why not just let them fly and give them a ranged attack while you're at it!
That's not really a reasonable comparison, given the facts of some of the alleged shortcomings you've mentioned.

Except whether the game goes from "good to less good" is unlikely to be subjective. I love All the changes (and I play hardcore frequently) and while I certainly think they could be tweaked in a few minor ways, I don't think it's worse in 1.6.1 than 1.5.2, either.

Not to mention, even if you do lose your villagers, you can always fence off the village and then cure some zombies to restart it.

Did you miss the part where Jeb and the devs announced that updates were going to be themed? They can't add features to the game for every player in every update.
Also, dese logical flaws. Stained clay? Carpet? These are to clay and to wool exactly what your colored glass is to glass. Also, holy crap, did you miss the part where they added leads, which makes use of slimeballs?
And every update has initial bugs. Those are fixed later.
What makes zombies annoying exactly? Is it that they're not a challenge, and that they're just trash mobs that get in the way? Well, the devs are working on making changes to them to make them less annoying and more challenging.
I hope you're a troll. I really do. I can find only one of your complaints that's actually valid. The rest just pointlessly knocks an update because it didn't add what you wanted it to add.

You came to a forum, full of people who like the game (which was obvious from the very name of the site) and started talking about how you don't/no longer like the game. A negative response was almost guaranteed. Also, a lot of your argument doesn't hold up, but a lot of people have already covered that. You also haven't made a counter argument against anything anyone has said. Three pages of mostly people trying to have an open debate with you and all you did was say people were attacking you for no reason, and talk about how you've been playing the game for a while, in response to three rude post.
Also, people have been asking for horses since Alpha, which is why the Mo' Creatures mod and so many other horse mods have been made. The zombie changes are a lot less noticeable on lower difficulties. In fact I think the only noticeable one is the baby zombie. New players playing on normal won't have a harder time, but those who play on hard finally have something that makes the game a bit more challenging, at least at the start. Later on, more zombies=more experience.
This is probably one of the weakest arguments ( some don't even offer arguments ) for 1.6 being a bad update. You can't expect every update to be big and you can't expect everything to apply to YOU. "more bugs" will be fixed (hopefully). "trouble than it's worth" just because YOU don't take any interest in the new features?.
ridiculous.
The server you're on ( I've been there before ) is kind of hardcore in a way . Someone said that regional difficulty wasn't really implemented and I'm sure none of us know the limitations or maximums that regional difficulty can reach or not reach.
With vanilla, not everything can be toggled. That's what mods and plugins are for. You can't be angry at Mojang for that. After all it's survival yet it's a sandbox so change whatever you want even using outside sources.
Mods? Dude, I Play On Mutiplayer So No Mods For Me. Plugins? Only Admins Can Do This Stuff.
Then Again Im Fine With The Items. Lead? PINATA! Horses? Joust! Hay Bales? Err*... Mabye Not Hay Bales. Colored Clay? YAY! Carpets? Carpet Parkour!
What Bugs* Me Is The Lagg. 1.5: 15-25 Fps. 1.6: 2-7 Fps Somtimes 14 Fps When Im Lucky.
I am not sure what I did wrong but my block picker menu, crosshairs, and F3 settings disappeared. I would consider those to be a major bug but I have seen worse in Sims/SimCity(EA/Maxis) games.

This update feels unfinished... Most of the horse items you can't even craft and the launcher looks like no effort was put into it. Other than that its okay...
Mojang could have stamped this game as 'Complete' and stop updating, sure if everyone is complaining after every update they make. I just don't think the negativity won't help Mojang any centimetre further.
Minecraft could be considered complete, but you get some cool extra functions.
Bug-fix-update coming, so what's the problem?!

Yep. The Launcher Look The Same Exept For The Badly Placed GUI.
Okay, I'm just gonna say, I like the blocks that have been added in 1.6. However, everything else seems useless to people who want to make adventure maps, like myself...especially the zombie-spawning-zombie thing. And as for bugs? Well, I'm sure others have discovered the sprint lag, and there's another one: when a player sits on a donkey(or horse, not sure) and puts a saddle on it the first time, the player's POV flips.
Yeah. Hypixel Got Screwed Right There. Now Everyone Of His Maps Is Basicly Zombie Apocolapse
