And I say we have had this lighting problem for far too long. I would rather wait until they are comfortable releasing it than assume that everything is good on their end. Not to mention any more bug fixes we might see too.
Fair enough. Let me ask you this though. Is the current snapshot worse than 1.4.7 because of the lack of the lighting fix? If the answer is no (and it is), then why wait to release it?

If mountains of code hadn't already been written I would agree, but the only reason I think it's worth it to wait is that we are already so close to it. Another week or a whole update? I choose a week. (just an example not a real time frame)
Makes the update more worth it imho.

Don't play vanilla? You don't know **** about minecraft.

But we aren't close to it. We are close to it being ready for testing, which will add several weeks. Meanwhile, the rest of the patch is ready for release now. It's not just another week. Based on history, it will be 2 to 3 weeks before release if the lighting is added to 1.5... and that assumes the lighting is ready for a snapshot this week (or next week due to Mojam). SO it could be another month to a month and a half.
Of course my natural response is going to be more updates faster now now now.
Unfortunately that probably isn't whats best for Minecraft. They need to take their time and make sure they get things right before they release anything. As a half baked release doens't benefit anyone.
So I am going to choose to fight nature and say whenever its finished.
NO they should not release 1.5 now! With every new snapshot, whether they changed or added redstone features or not, has introduced crippling redstone bugs. Even in the bug fix snapshots new bugs are introduced, especially with redstone. If they released 1.5 now lots of people, including me, will be seriously unhappy.

Both of which are not related. There is NOTHING that says that red dragons will be in 1.6. Saying there is or might be is just speculation. The same speculation that raises people's expectations and let's them down when they're not met.
I think the question is: Do we want 13w13a, or 1.5.99.2? Doing an early release will have little impact on the amount of bugs that need fixing, and if they delay the release they don't have another million angry forumers screaming about bugs. Impatient people like me can always play a snapshot.
I didn't vote because I don't know how long it will take Mojang to get the update ready. If I somehow knew it would take them 2 weeks to get it release, I would say 2 weeks. However, I don't know, so I say just be patient.
Please don't force rumors.

Read jebs tweets. They help.
I'm well aware of Jeb's tweets. There was nothing in it about Red Dragons. Please don't force rumors.
I sure hope they do. I've been waiting for that since like last year.
Also the official minecraft wiki
Your so negative in all my topics lol
The wiki isn't 'official'. Jeb said he wants to eventually add the red dragon, but he has never said it will be in 1.6.
...but that's just like, my opinion, man.
Please link me to his specific tweet where he says that red dragons will be added. Otherwise, you are just spreading rumors.
