Okay so i'm sure everyone reading this probably knows of all the issues 1.3.1 has come with, and if you enjoy single player like I do, drop your game back to the last playable update, 1.2.5, because as for now its the only way you'll enjoy your Minecraft experience.
It would be nice to see Mojang actually step up and fix the issues multiplayer has, because now, 1.3.1 single player has the same exact issues as multiplayer, and i'm not one who cares about mods or plugins, and I really don't care for multiplayer either.
For some desert and jungle temples, and tripwire hooks, yea, 1.3.1 is definetly not worth it one bit, unless you enjoy the issues that multiplayer has always had.
I disagree. I also only play singleplayer but I find 1.3 to be fine to use. The new features certainly outweigh the small amount of srver lag I get - and I am sure that server lag will be improved on and fixed in future patches.
I have to say the bug where water pushing me against a block suffocates me is an awful pain. That and spider jitteryness makes them almost impossible to hit with a sword. I still say net gain though with the sheer number of features. Wouldn't downgrade in a second.
Can't wait to see multiplayer once my favorite servers work, there were a lot of obnoxious things there that are finally FIXED. my animals no longer phasing through their cages (as much...) is a good one, along with slimes actually being attackable.

It may not affect you, but I can guarantee it IS affecting plenty of others. I get it on mine. It seems to be ENTIRELY random as to who will get it and who wont.
I can say this though, when you do get it, it's usually *****BAD*****. I cant stress that enough. The game went from being rather bug-free in SSP back in 1.2.5, to being the single buggiest, most screwed up game I've ever had on this PC. And there's NO excuse for this sort of crap. This should not have been released. It was well known in the snapshots that there were a great, great number of problems, so my question is..... why in the numerous hells would they then go and RELEASE it in that state, knowing full well just how much of a complete disaster it is?
And it is indeed impossible for them to NOT know about these problems. Though some players arent getting them, there's way, way, WAY more than enough players that ARE getting them for it to be insanely obvious that there's many things horribly wrong with the game right now.
Yet instead of working on these issues, we get rotatable wood.
Yes! Is a joke. Maybe the people who have a great computer say that is not bad, that run faster, isn't lagged, etc. But isn't for the low-end computers. And even good and god computers have those bugs.
The performance is the worst that I'd had in Minecraft. Now, isn't only the FPS, is also the random closes and crashed (weird bug), lagging movements, blocks that appear and disappear, position glitch, maps that don't work, etc.
Multiplayer did never run faster to me. I'd even had like 5 or 10 fps with the lowest graphics. But I'd get like 18-25 fps in singleplayer, that was good. But when 1.3.1 did come, my Minecraft run horrible.
The new things are well, even the new book are the best part to me. But I really hate when Mojang puts incomplete features! I mean, the merge SSP-SMP, but they don't fix all the bugs (the fixed several, that's true, but the SMP sensation still).
Adventure mod is joke too. Adventure maps need more things, and not all of them don't let break blocks. I know that jeb'd post some images of a new adventure block, but that will be to 1.4, like the new fixes. Why not to 1.3.1!? I think that is ok to wait a longer time to a update that DONT LAG
For all you getting problems get a new computer minecraft is faster for some people who lagged and boosted the performance of others who did not. Minecraft is moving up not down mojang wont do anything for people with shitty computers

The only 1.3 update I hate is the server part. There is a reason why singleplayer has more benefits then multiplayer. Multiplayer is laggy but you get to have fun with your friends on the bright side.
Singleplayer - You can't play with your friends and have as much fun but at least you get to experience a no mob or anything lag
As long as the lag gets fixed. You will realise this is one of the best updates in minecraft.
[...] i can usually play minecraft for 4-5 hours a day but now its too laggy and buggy and i just end up playing for about 20 minutes and then turning it off
That's weird. :/
I have the same problem. Minecraft don't crash normally. It suddenly closes
I personally think this is one of the best improvements Minecraft has had. The new items and such are useful and interesting, I haven't really had issues with lag, and I think the idea of merging single player and multiplayer will have great benefits towards the game's development as things move forward. So, I think I'll stick with 1.3.1 thank you very much.

*sigh*
I fixed it.
1. YOUR COMPUTER SUCKS
2. You have a bad internet connection.
If you look in my computer you can read my computer specs. I can run minecraft on fancy and far render and get 25-40 frames.
2. Internet connection in singleplayer? LOL WUT
It's not random at all, actually.

But that give me more time to wait. In a update that I can't play.
Great solution. Buy a new computer.
Hey! Africans tribes need food! Buy food.

"The only place I wanna go; that's forward. Going back is a waste."
"Go back there, it's the only place people like you belong."
"Just don't come back."
That's weird. :/

Agree totally.
