The reason I hated being able to pause was because I ended up getting off the game too often and checking things, without pause I'm more willing to follow things through. I guess it's still a good thing they brought pause back.
I dont understand why people cant make a small hole to hide in u til they get back..
What I do is I stand in a fairly safe place and if I hear myself getting shot at I jump back in the game and defend myself. Of course, if I'm afk, I just disconnect for that short while.
the only thing good about this is that i can be smelting a crap load of stuff and have chrome open or work on something else without it auto pausing and stopping it, then again if im in a mine and i want a glass of milk its a pain to come back and see that a creeper blew me up....
Thank god... If the pause had been gone by the time 1.3 came out... the amount of people (rightfully) complaining about losing such a basic game feature would have made my head explode.
Still hate the merge though >.....................> Despite the good reasons for it lolz
Did anyone suspect otherwise? This furthers the concept that the final build in 1.3 will be an established and polished SP experience despite the merge and peoples' fears.
Because I like for the world to stay right as I left it when I hit escape to go take care of things far more important than a video game.
This.
Also, for those of us running on lower-end computers, the ability to tell the game to just shut up and stop processing for a little while is invaluable. Save/quit isn't always an option.
I'm glad to hear it. That was really my only reservation about the merge. Well, that and the ability to play SSP offline, which I'm reasonably certain they have confirmed.
Wow, that's incredibly irritating. AFKing in Spawners/Mob grinders is so much more annoying in SSP. I've been playing in the 19wa Snapshot just to avoid it. =/ Oh well. /Cry.

They could do it so that if you are in a game alone, you have the ability to pause, but when someone else joins your game, it removes the ability to pause.

You have always been able to run a local server and play on it even if minecraft.net or your own internet is down.
you will be able to pause your game again in singleplayer, even though it now uses server logic.

This is great news, and will probably make people more willing to accept the SSP/SMP merge.
A nuisance maybe, it was nice for plant growth.
Nothing that I wouldn't do in an mmo.
YUM YUM YUM!

Praise be to Spode.
I'm glad it's back!
