This morning I built a semi-automatic cannon in SSP. It functions fine, but is slow and awkward to reload. I was wondering if anyone else has built one, and if so, how it works.
It was the first thing I thought of when I heard of pistons. I will post my version later. Since pistons can't launch entities, I can only automate the loading process, but it's quite cool, and fun to do.
I want to see someone make a cannon that reloads itself with pistons. That would be really awesome...
If anyone does, make a video of it firing and reloading.
I did just that. It loads from the left side, using pistons to push 6 rows of tnt (boosters and projetile) after it fires. sand falls to fill the void between the magazine and pistons. i'll post the screenshot as soon as i know how.
Once i figure out how to post an image, i have a few screen shots. sorry for being a newb on the forum

That's actually a really good design. You get lots more shots than mine does, which is really the point of the semi-automatic part, isn't it?
