Looks like I'm the only one with luck, because I could score my two tickets the instant it went on sale! Actually, after I finished the transaction, there were still ~2,300 tickets left. Then they began to sell like hot cakes.
Can you tell us what you did to easily get your tickets?
Aw T.T You two will get it next batch no worries. My best bet is to do the same exact thing. The way I see it, batch 2 may sell out quick due to the hype of the first, then by the third batch it should sell out a lot slower. Don't give up!
I hope you're right. Me and my dad are TRYING TO get tickets so we can go. Sadly we might not.
Guys, I am proud to annouce, that I will be at minecon! Woot! I succesfully bought 3 tickets when we were spamming the link with 3 computers, only 1 got it, it was mine
Got to the queue where it said "first come, first served" (Hit it right when the timer got to 0:00:00)... Too bad this seems to be based on claims and not actual sold tickets, as I was given the "Sorry, there are no more available tickets" message after a few minutes of waiting. There were still a lot of unsold tickets, now if only the queue worked the right way.
It is impossible to get tickets. It is like winning the lottery... I have spammed refresh, tried the buy button as quickly as possible when it appears, and even got in the waiting line once, but it just throws you back saying the tickets you tried to buy are unavailable. This is terrible...
The way they do this is just ridiculous, the price is too high for a Con to begin with isn't it? E3, Pax, Comicon, they don't cost this much do they? There are how many millions of people that own Minecraft, and all they are going to allow to attend is 7500 people?
I don't know about PAX but E3 is about $900 for a three day pass.
It's just the dumbest thing I've ever seen them do. I'll bet they could rent a big place, charge $25-30 a head and get 20-30,000 people show up in the 2 days. Instead, they charge way too much and it ends up being mostly youtube celebs able to attend, with a tiny portion of their fanbase (of millions of subscribers) able to actually meet their idols.
I think you can only have that many people if you sign a multi-year agreement. Probably why San Diego Comic-Con (130,000) has been in the same convention center for two decades.

It is...but keep trying! I was about to give up after round 1, but I tried on round 2 and got my hands on some tickets! Just keep refreshing.
This whole process is quite amusing. After the quick sell out of batch 1 I had 5 different PCs at 3 locations waiting for the "timer." However, after a look around and a couple of calls I realize the so called countdown timer is different on all 5 PCs. There was right around a minute and a half difference between all these timers. Kind of makes me wonder if the timers are just for show and not the actual countdown time. Well who knows I guess another round of clicking a couple thousand times again tomorrow.
300 Bucks to go to a con...that's gotta be near a world record, all the cons I've been to have been at most $60/ticket....
WORTH IT! WOOO!
These tickets are $150 per person, for both days.
It is far from a record: the Runefest 2011 (being the only other con I know about) sold VIP tickets in 2011 for £179, which is around $270 according to Google. That was two days aswell.
Wth the timer goes by your computer's clock. How am I supposed to know when it actually opens? This is a big problem since they sell out in 3 seconds!!!!!!!
