Wooo! This has got to be the best update so far! Though that's what I thought of 1.6... >.<
But what about my old world? Will the new biomes make giant ugly cliffs in it when I explore new chunks? How do I make sure this doesn't happen? Any help would be very appreciated! (By the way, I don't really want to start a whole new world, I have gotten pretty far into the world I have.)

I like the dark oak wood textures a lot but no offense mojang, but a hate the new acacia wood texture, both log and planks, the planks should be a darker texture of birch planks, and the acacia logs should be a yellow-er oak texture PLEASE CHANGE THE ACACIAS TEXURES MOJANG!
Yes, the orange color is neither accurate nor particularly useful. Acacia wood isn't orange, it's a brown. It's considered an excellent accent wood because it tends to have complicated grains. The orange wood isn't useful for that at all. And if they wanted to put in an unrealistic color for build variety, orange is too garish. Grey, yellow, or red would all make much more usable tints.

Geographicraft (formerly Climate Control) - Control climate, ocean, and land sizes; stop chunk walls; put modded biomes into Default worlds, and more!
RTG plus - All the beautiful terrain of RTG, plus varied and beautiful trees and forests.

All wood is just different shades of brown, most the time. I reckon the wood colours should be realistic, and then paint should be added to the game!
Also...they're already pre-releasing this? But...this update isn't finished! There are still a lot of things, in my opinion, that need some work done to them!!! Ohhh...if only I knew Java.
And the music from Minecraft - Volume Beta hasn't been added in this update. Granted, Volume Beta hasn't been released, but the fact that C418 could easily give Mojang the music and it would take another few weeks if they continued to work on the update means that the music could still be added. What a pity...
What if it's just your systems you're playing on? >_>.. I see little to no lag at all when I play. Instead of just complaining about what they do, why don't you try to fix your end first?
My system is easily in the top 10%, my system is just fine.
They seem to have given minor performance to 10yo absolute junk laptops that were never even designed to run flash well, much less a game, while completely decimating actual performance. aka it really actually runs like sh!t so it doesn't stress the computer.
There is a reason games have graphics & performance settings, so that they can run on a large variety of hardware, because no, not everyone can afford good computers and yes they still ought to be able to enjoy the game.
If you want to counter someones legitimate concerns, why don't you try and find legitimate solutions instead of blindly accusing someone of having a bad pc.
Very much looking forward to the implementation of the Plugin API. I've wanted to get into modding for months, but I've been holding off because I knew this was coming. Looks like it might actually be here soon.
I wouldn't hold your breath if I was you. It was "and tons of changes to get ready for the Plugin API".
That could mean anything from the next update to any number of updates from now. I wouldn't be that surprised if there's a mod developer release way before regular players even see a snapshot release. Then because of how much it involves, the bug squashing stage could be quite extensive.
So if you want to mod I'd say go for it even if there's an API on the horizon. Any experience you accumulate will only be a good thing down the road.
Somebody doesn't appreciate all the HARD WORK AND SWEAT MOJANG HAS PUT INTO THIS UPDATE!!!!!!!!
How about instead of being a jerk to Mojang, you appreciate what Mojang has given you.
Dude!! Mojang hasn't "given" anyone anything. We paid for it. And considering how well Mojang has done because we bought in to Minecraft before it was even a "game" Mojang should be just as appreciative of us as we are of them.
So that means we have the right to be critical.
For an example I maintain that minecraft is still in beta form and not a release version like Mojang says it is. They're still rewriting major parts of the code base. This is not something you should be doing with code about to be released let alone already released. Does it mean I don't appreciate Mojang and their efforts? Not at all. I'm just waiting for the release that doesn't break other parts of the game so that you have to restart your map. I'm patient and I'll wait. When they finally do I'll be very grateful as well. Till they do that will be my biggest criticism of Minecraft.
As for you, I have to say you're coming off like a brainless fanboi more than anything. You might as well of said "don't like it doesn't matter, so deal with it." We all know how well that worked for Microsoft now don't we. Don't agree with other posts? It's your right. But if you want to shut them down, prove they're wrong instead of throwing a tantrum like a twelve year old.
The title for this is amazing hahaha. Very excited for 1.7, probably the most excited I've been in awhile for an update. So many new things to experience but what I was wondering is how survival servers will be impacted. I don't know how updating servers are and stuff but with the new biomes being added to the game, will old survival servers be able to experience these new features?
I'd have to say that my absolute favorite part of this update is colored glass. Opens up so many options for neat looking office buildings and skyscrapers.
mmm name change, what about the bans that where made ? like if I banned *person11* from my server, if he change name well he could easily log back in without having to make a new account ?
That's the pufferfish, not the clownfish. Clownfish does nothing right now but restore like one hunger point. Maybe later it can be used to create a chaos potion that applies a random shader?
Excellent. I could wish they'd added the new woods earlier (like before I generated umpty acres of roofed forest and a patch of savanna), but that's par for the course playing snapshots.

I did some CraftTweaker scripts for Mystical Agriculture. They fill in a couple of small gaps in MA, and also let you make or duplicate not only vanilla plants, but the blocks, plants and wood from Quark and Biomes O'Plenty. Also spawn eggs for most vanilla mobs! The scripts are here on Github.

I absolutely love just about everything in this update, it opens up so many more things to do. By far my favourite update.

That was quick!
