I like the dark oak wood textures a lot but no offense mojang, but a hate the new acacia wood texture, both log and planks, the planks should be a darker texture of birch planks, and the acacia logs should be a yellow-er oak texture PLEASE CHANGE THE ACACIAS TEXURES MOJANG!
Very much looking forward to the implementation of the Plugin API. I've wanted to get into modding for months, but I've been holding off because I knew this was coming. Looks like it might actually be here soon.

"You don't honestly care if your new Crystal Meta-Sword is going to clash with your Elite Boss Clogs! It's about the numbers! You want the items with the best numbers so you can use your numbers to decrease the enemy numbers until your numbers are the best in the land!" -ZeroPunctuation
So....does this mean we can stop "changing the world!!" now? We're done with that right? I can play in peace? Does this mean I can finally start an indefinite SSP world and not have to pout when I get wind of "WORLD ALTERING CHANGES!" like water levels changing and my rooms ending up as a bathhouses, or biome additions putting jungle trees smack dab on mah wall.
I don't like change guise! I don't like change!
Looking forward to the interesting 1.7 terrain though :3
Screen name changes are gonna get so annoying on servers, I can see it now;
Guy1 "Hello there stranger!"
NewGuy "Dude it's me, I just didn't like my name:
2 days later
Guy1"Hi stranger!"
NewGuy2"Dude it's me again. That other name was stupid."
Does anyone know if there will be large changes between 1.7 pre-release and 1.7 release? I want to start my new server map, but I wat to make sure things are set first.
Awesome update, but... I really hate the fact that roses are no more! You might say I'm overreacting (and I am), but screw poppies!!! I want classic roses back! I'm not saying poppies should be removed, but rather they just be put in as another flower, and roses should be reinstated.
You can get/make a resource pack to change it back to a rose it even can rename it to a Rose Honestly I might do that. Rose just sounds nicer doesn't it?
You mean what by name change? Changing your ingame name? Hell no It can open to bad peoples (Abuse I guess) so anyone can steal a name (Probably already used nope) but like someone can call himself SethBling1 or whatever... oh well I hope they wont add that feature.
I assume changing your ingame name would work like steam. There would actually be two names, your account name (log in name) that won't change unless you make a new account and a friend name that will be visible in servers. So you would just need to ban the account and since that's how the ban list is right now current ban lists will still work. Also I have a suspicion (Might be using that word incorrectly) that you need to use a name tag to change your name in game.
Ok. I'm going to make this as easy as I can. You don't need to manually download anything. First log in to minecraft using the new launcher don't click play, instead on the left of the play button click new profile. Change the "profile name" to "snapshot", and under "Version Selection" click the box next to "Enable experimental development version ("snapshots")". Then Click "save profile" at the bottom.
That's it. From now on if you want to use the latest "snapshot" just use the drop down on the left to select it or chose your name for the default official release version.
Warning: If you don't understand what I'm talking about or don't know how much free ram you have please don't attempt the following step. If done incorrectly it cause a whole array of problems
Warning: Don't try to dedicate all your PC's ram to Minecraft, It will crash due to some of that ram being used for other things such as the Operating System.
IF you are Teck savvy and have a good computer you can also add "JVM Arguments" by putting something like "-Xmx4G -Xms4G" it will allow Minecraft to use 4 GB of ram instead of the default (I think default is currently 1gb).
I have a £380 laptop which is 3 years old and have no slowdown issues at all. Only 3GB of ram with an AMD Vision chip. Chunks load in quite fast and the frame rate never drops below 60fps.
I don't understand how so many others have these problems. Unless its the regional servers that have the problems.
I'm somewhat knowledgeable about computers but not a expert. I think many of the people with MC problems just throw the setting to max, use HD texture packs and/or use mods without really paying attention to what their pc can handle. If you have 2 gb of free ram, at least a integrated graphics processor and are not maxing out the FPS MC should run fine on most PCs.
IP ban, or players will have a base username that is added to the ban list that they can't change, but is separate from the display name.
"Aint nobody got time for dat ^_^"
"Swiggity swooty, im coming for dat booty"
"Hail the Dark Lord Satan"

If you have never changed your name before on minecraftforum.net, then you are allowed to change it once.
