As much as I like the idea of horses n all I really hope they are not one trick ponies. I want a mule to carry my riches back to the ranch there cowboy or homeboy or what ever they call cool cats now a days.
“By three methods we may learn wisdom: First, by reflection, which is noblest; Second, by imitation, which is easiest; and third by experience, which is the bitterest.” - Confucius
Sheilds would be nice. As would dual swords and more variations, not just diamond, steel, blah blah blah but things like katanas and battleaxes. I really hope that that is what Notch meant by more armour...
Adding something like the BattleGear mod would be awesome
The rest of the animals from mo creatures will come soon enough. Probably along with 1.6 update, horse is just a tease to what else will come. Other creatures will hopefully have a reason to be there, whales for lamp oil (New lamp needed), Sharks for... wetsuit ( breath under water and swim faster), Harvest seaweed for water maps would be a good one. Plus many more things could be crafted, snakes for belts to trade with villagers etc...
Oh the list goes on.
Argh, no insects, please. I do think they'll add bunnies and sharks and stuff like that. Horses is what we've been waiting for!!!
Rollback Post to RevisionRollBack
The more things change, the more they seem to stay the damn same.
I've stopped playing Minecraft years ago, but I'm still around to offer technical support.
If you're still reading this, have a wonderful day!
Amuses me to see people screaming copy of a mod when the mod creator is working with mojang.
Anyway.
If Mojang uses the mo'creatures frequency / max / min settings for creatures, if more are added, that would be great so people could dial back if it becomes too many. I also like the idea of being able to dial back on frequency of hostiles such as creepers. I love fighting mobs but if I am building, I would rather wish tehy would not sneak up on me and blow my creations up. I could go into peaceful for building, or creative, but then I risk breaking my structures with missed hits.
I would love to see more of the animals, particularily fliers, or swimmers. Although I would like to see some of the sounds from the animals dialed back a bit in either frequency or volume.
I like how mojang will recognise a mod creator and either work with them or work things in that are popular. I realise that people scream foul saying "mojang stole this!!" but it should be seen as a huge complement to the creator that it has been recognised worthy enough to be included officially.
I love the horses. Now lets have some horse burgers!!
"Yes, right. You're one of...those, Never understood why any self respecting Decepticon would choose automobile as his vehical mode when he could have flight." -Starscream

Server, Vanilla op command: mobGriefing Off
Turns off the damaged mobs (creepers ghasts endermen) do to the environment whilst they still so damage to the players.
It's the only thing I have done to my Vanilla server to change it; I really hate repairing over and over again, especially with redstone stuff...
Plus of course you can turn it back on if you are done building and want to let them mess with your land again.
If you are playing not server I dunno if you have any options, though.
I can think of a million plugins & minigames with horses.

I think this would be amazing on a Hungergames server

Glad to see DrZhark isn't an ass about sharing his mod with Mojang like some...
