Anyone know if we have to start new maps for the ores?
The way the generation works is in chunks, and it only generates chunky nearby you. Basically, want out to unexplored areas and you'll find the new ores and generation.

I love how no one cares that he has killed two forum posters.
Actually he (and I) should be grateful this isn't "death note".
I wonder if clouds were always the problem; I tried playing 1.7.3 beta and the clouds freaked my computer out.
EDIT: I get the white lines too; without clouds on and everything at minimum except the brightness. However there is no point in posting it on the bug fix thread because "41% of posts are duplicates" someone has the same problem as us and has already posted it so go support them(lots of vanilla relvent blah blah blah pictures at normal fov and normal world gen. If you don't I have read where they get edgy and with good reason. They have a job to do and you doing anything outside vanilla makes their job more difficult.

Nerf's next great challenge is to make an automatic belt fed rocket launcher hand gun with a scope.
Am I the only one who is getting severe lag? I used to get 100+ fps easily with graphics at max and now I get around 25. Even the inventory is sluggish. Also, did they scrap the rewritten lighting engine? I see the new maximum smoothing, but wasn't there supposed to be furnaces giving off light from only their front face and that sort of thing? If the prerelease is the same as the final release, this does not bode well.
Great! This with the release of Inferno Mines will make a great combination of official and unofficial things! Can't wait to play both! (Pretty unrelated that I would discuss inferno mines) I'm also looking forward to what people build and come up with on this next release such as Sethbling, Etho, and other great redstone and map makers. Thank you Mojang!
Lighting still not working. Why can I still see through terrain?
This is because of the FCE (Fail Chunk Error), This is still common and has been since alpha.. Maybe you need to set your graphics to minimum( or the particles.. I keep forgetting) so yeah.. Its been common since alpja and will always be that way 'till Mojang finds the right coding to solve the problem.. (probably coming in 1.6)

I'm (sorta) back, and with better grammar and more maturity.
Bah, this is probably the first update that's gonna really burn me, thanks to the redstone updates killing a good handful of my machines. My bud switch reliant fully automatic wheat farm? Dead. Any tree farm that relies on a loop of sand tape? Dead (or at least in critical need of recalibration). It feels like the first time a creeper blew up my house all over again.
I have a supply-dispensing wall, see, and each segment of it is made with one solid block, a lever placed on the block's face, a dispenser hidden behind the block, and a redstone torch behind the dispenser. The torch delivers constant block updates to the dispenser, making it dispense items as fast as you can flip the level back-and-forth. But it turns out that's been a glitch the whole time, and the Redstone Update "fixes" it. I wonder how many more of my machines will break next week.
Fortunately the pre-release let me design a new supply dispensing wall that involves using sticky piston to move a block of redstone back-and-forth behind a pair of dispensers, so once again you get items from them as fast as you can crank a lever. It has higher capacity than the old model and is easier to label, but is nowhere near as compact and takes more resources to build. I'm not really looking forward to all the other re-designing I'll have to do soon either.

Is this the "New Lighting Engine?" or is that still not implemented yet?
Thanks for any insights.

Did you know I write Science Fiction? Well I do. Check it out at http://planetretcon.com/books/
Honestly... I think that in every update some random member of majang puts the 00000HEROBRINE0000 code by accident.... this is to cause more drama
WEll.. You can use MCV (Minecraft Version Changer) aswell... That's how I do it..
Or you can just... like.. use the curse client and possibly get a virus... your choice..
