You can camouflage it with the behind of a piston and some furnaces
The piston would make noise, which would alert the player that they've set off a trap. Also, having to use a piston to activate a trap just makes it clunky and inefficient. In the trap chest's current state, it can only be an effective trap when placed in a room full of pistons and furnaces. There is basically no other way to have the trap chest activate a trap without it being blatantly obvious. Once everyone learns not to open chests in rooms or hallways made of furnaces, trap chests will be pointless, because no one except new players who don't know better will ever fall for them.
This is the buggiest releases I've played in a recent memory... They STILL have not fixed the lighting bugs after a year of game-ruining awfulness and this snapshot is invisible-object hell. You have to reload the world to actually load all the stuff in new chunks. Sometimes I wonder if Mojang ever actually tries PLAYING this game.
Needs a night sensor block as having to NOT gate the day sensor to turn on lights at night takes up too much space for light posts.
I attached the sensor to a sticky piston which pushed/pulled a block of redstone into place to power the lights. Not sure if this would be a better option, but it works quite well.

Have you found an attractive way to do it? Every way I've tried has ended up looking horrible.
To be honest, nether quartz sounds like a cheap, badly though out gimmick to encourage nether play. Its not like we had some plant that only grew in the nether (and therefore a REASON to spend any significant amount of time there).
Aside from that, the rest of it looks pretty good.

The hell is this crap?
I suggest that they add a feature that allows us to reload ze chunks without reentering the world, just like the debug feature in a snapshot a few months back then.
That was a nice feature.
Then again, you can abuse it to find dungeons and mineshafts by looking at fire particles.

Didn't you hear? You can now take soul sand into the overworld, and grow your wart there. No longer needed in the nether after your first find.
Right now, the only reason to go back to the nether is travel, or mining bricks from the fortresses. And now that we can smelt netherrack for that, it's much easier/nicer with less work/risk.
Step 1: Lay down a roof of stone over a patch of rack.
Step 2: Dig it out from underneath
Step 3: Profit.
If we can do more with the ore, or if we actually have something that behaves differently in different dimensions, then fine. 1.5 is still a ways off yet.
(In regard to a mod that gives realistic animal genetics):
Would you really rather have bees that make diamonds and oil with magical genetic blocks?
... did I really ask that?

No idea tbh xD Each person has their own style and likes/dislikes. I doubt it would be difficult to hide the simple circuit in something more aesthetically pleasing though. I generally don't like having the wiring out in the open anyways.

Hmmm, maybe. But it depends what they have planned for the quartz. I know it's currently needed to craft the comparitor, but not alot of peeps are going to use that imo. Only reason I go to the nether atm is for forts - Nether wart/Blazes and possibly wither skellies if I get bored so more uses and new things for the nether would be the next thing on the top of my 'needs' list.

I know- I was actually referencing that; Mojang killed the biggest nether gameplay mechanic with that update.

I actually wonder about the whole "wart only grows in the nether" issue.
Despite it being a vanilla mechanic that different things behave differently in different dimensions, Mystcraft abandoned the idea of different ages behaving differently because of customer support nightmares. I'd love to see more differences between dimensions, more reasons to be in one place or another, and the idea that the only differences are the resources available is ... kinda less than I would like.

Did Mojang change because of customer confusion?
I think it was because it was boring and annoying to have to sit around in an otherwise useless realm waiting for plants to grow.
If there were Nether trees, 3 or 4 ores, non-dangerous mobs to farm, and stuff like that, then yeah, the Nether would be a place where I'd not mind staying to grow Wart. But as it is, a Fortress can keep you interested for 20 minutes or so, and walling in your walkway between portals can add another hour. If you set up a railway between portals it can even take up an hour or two more. But then, you're done. There's no more to do except wait for the wart to grow, which thankfully you don't have to do any more.
if you shift double click a item in your inventory (the big space) it moves from the tool bar then back to the inventory instead of staying in the tool bar

There are 47 quadrillion mods to this game (give or take ;))
Every single interesting thing they could possibly do will seem like some mod or another.
