My internet is being dumb and the "Edit post" button is missing, but I'd like to add to my previous post, is the only difference between pre-releases and the final version just bug fixes or do they actually add some new features?
I'm not familiar with pre-releases quite yet... are they the finished version, or does the final version have a few more features?
...Because it would be stupid to have a jar you have to manually install earlier than the one you push a button to update to.
I absolutely LOVE all the new sounds.

What? What are you talking about?
There would be a couple of bugfixes and some new tweaks here and there, nothing major.
As for the quote, he probably means either Invisibility potions, or another thing.
I love my mods too much and won't touch any new versions until my favorite mods are moved to that version. And that usually takes forever... especially now that updates for the game are coming out so often...
Mojang is reminding me a bit of apple. Get upgraded to death. Mods can't keep up. I still miss aether.

Agreed! Why doesn't Mojang just encourage other people who have fresh ideas to add to the quality of the game, with the option of the player. Stop being selfish, Mojang!
Well, well, well... Gotta update the maps, I guess! And hope that every mod and plugin won't take too long to update That, of course, is in the hands of the modders, not Mojang.
Good update! Looking forward to seeing what 1.5 has to offer after that!
I have to say, this update boasts some decent additions to Minecraft and extends the playability (in terms of a session) by a good bit. However, I'm a little let down by the fact that the Wither Skeletons are currently the only monsters that drop their heads.
I was hoping with at least the prerelease, we'd be able to obtain the others in a legitimate manner in Survival. Oddly enough, it was one of the mentioned features that pulled me toward this release (and added a reason for me to hunt monsters, experience withstanding).
Maybe he's talking about Invisibility potion?
I had that problem with the minecraft server. You have to hit save as and change the type of file from zip to all files.

MOD API IS MORE IMPORTANT

Antother 4 months later.
Jeb: " Mod API delayed to 1.7!"
