I wish someone would check want the new dungeon loot is, if there is any since someone edited the wiki page that they added more dungeon loot for 12w36a, i'm to lazy to check for it myself..
A bug to note here is if you exit in this world and open an other world, the health bar WILL show up.Especially when you create a new world.
Not really that big of a bug, but I consider it as one... When you hold armor into the slot in the creative menu (like a chestplate on the place where you need to click to wear it) but you don't click to actually wear it and exit out of the creative menu the chest plate goes byebye.
Very rarely Minecraft starts without any soundeffects. Even when in game.
It would be funny if you could make a name float above the Steve faces like the names that float above other players. But only 1 line of space, I don't wanna replace the signs!
A bug I noticed in 1.3.2 is that sometimes when eating food you'll eat a second helping without the animation. The sounds and effects still apply though. I'm not sure if it's fixed in this dev build.
Have you noticed how, yet again, the minecraft developers have stolen content from a mod?
The "mob" heads were originally created by Jammy780 in the mod found here:
I wish they would add some of the other stuff from that mod though. Some furniture, cupboards, and general decorations would be nice. I guess the planter/flowerpot was also added that could be said to come from this same mod, so I guess there is some hope for a chair you can sit in for vanilla minecraft.
I also love the fridge and the grandfather clock. Anyway, certainly more decorations would be nice to have no matter what, especially if Mojang plans on using Minecraft as an urban planning tool. See also this tweet via Notch (he retweeted it yesterday):
I would have to think Mojang is going to add some extra flourishes just to support such a project in terms of interior design pieces. Just some food for thought, particularly since so much seems to be coming from Jammy780's mod.
Mod developers would be happy to see something they made get added to the official version, yet it also means that people have less of a reason to download their mod, which could eventually result in them stopping the development of the mods. Also, the worst part about Minecraft developers stealing content from mods is that they never admit to it or give credit to the people that originally thought of the things.
I call that flattery. While it is a common misconception that Mojang can take anything somebody is doing in a mod and appropriate it into Minecraft, I would be grateful for anything I do in a mod might possibly get incorporated into vanilla Minecraft. One mod I wrote I even expect that it should... mainly because it is a bug patch that Mojang should be fixing anyway.
If Mojang is taking stuff from mods though, they should be at least giving attribution to the original mod developers in some way... particularly if they are fairly popular mods like Jammy's Furniture mod. I don't know if the Baby Animal mod developer got credit, but that is another particuarly well designed mod that was incorporated into vanilla Minecraft that should have been credited.
I don't usually play the snapshots. But after reading the Wiki, some things caught my eye that make me want to play.
Nether Stars.
A use for Soul Sand.
Withers and Wither Skeletons.
New painting of a Wither.
Real Beacon Block texture and crafting recipe.
Dyeing (again)
Decoration Blocks.
Carrots on a stick.
Now all we need is a use for Endstone (other than decoration) and I'll be happy. Whether I like these features and will always use them is unknown, but they do seem cool.
I've never tried using a snapshot before and I've stayed on 1.2.5 after hearing of all the problems with 1.3.x
Is it really just as simple as swapping out the .jar files? If this snapshot has problems do I just replace it with my old (stable) 1.2.5 jar and everything will be back to normal?
Amazing snapshot. Now Chickens can be bred with seeds, giving me an actual USE for all the seeds I have in my chest. Also, has anyone found out what this new Dungeon Loot is? I badly want to know, but I am not sure about updating to this snapshot yet.
I'm somewhat disappointed that the Wither only drops a component to the Beacon. I never did think that the Beacon made much sense in Survival mode, unless you've been caving like mad just to get all the mineral to supply yourself with buffers from the Beacon.
Anyone know if the Wither Skeletons spawn in already generated Nether Fortresses or do i need to find a new one?
I could not find any in already generated Nether Forts, but found them quickly in a newly generated Nether Fort. They don't seem to spawn that often, and I only saw maybe a dozen over about an hour of play. No heads dropped, but I got one stone sword. I saw a couple of regular skeletons spawn as well.
I also saw blazes spawning without a spawner, which never happened in my old Nether Forts. Lots of magma slimes too.
also i saw someone a bit disappointed by the heads because of a grapical glitch, did it occur to you that your texture pack may conflict with the head? retry the snapshot without a texture pack, i doubt you'll have the same problem.
The point is, it looks fine on my mobs, but not the head items.
Some people use a separate layer of the mob files to make them more 3D, which makes them much more interesting, and it is more creative, and almost gives the illusion that the mobs aren't drawn onto a simple 3D model. Especially the skeleton skull, where on the mob it actually looks like a skull with a jaw, instead of a white box.
All Jeb_ would have to do is make it so the mob head items load the hat layer from their respective mob textures, if that extra layer is used, which on Skeletons, Zombies, Players, and wither skeletons, it is. The creeper does not use the extra layer. (Oh, and Zombie pigmen use it in vanilla, if it were to have a head item, you would just see a pig skull)

I do not approve. Mojang is making Minecraft too dark and too complicated. Minecraft started out with the idea of making a "simple game with blocks". Now it's all about new mobs, new features, etc. They should be improving on what they already have such as villages. The new Wither boss is heavily overpowered, and while some of the new features are cool, I generally do not like where Minecraft is going. Then again, I am 21, so maybe it is time to stop playing games. Don't let me stop you though; if you like all the new features, by all means, go ahead and play.
I've noticed these as well.
I've been looking for something like this, you have my thanks!
Who needs horses when now you can control a pig with it!

Version 2.1 now updated for MC 1.6.2

I'll keep playing because there's nothing that can compete..... but don't expect me to be happy about the new snapshot
Yep.
