But can anyone specify what Jeb said about the terrain? For me, it was hard to hear them.
I heard he wasn't going to make anymore changes to it. I hope I'm freaking out about nothing.
Jeb was complaining that every time he hits the terrain generators that it is the one thing he is guaranteed to catch a whole bunch of flak from the player community. I suppose he is right about that too, although I'd like to see decent beaches again. Mainly Jeb was saying that tweaking terrain generators was very nearly the last thing he cares to get into now... and suggesting that if one of the other developers want to be brave they can take over that aspect of the game.
The problem is that each time he touches the terrain generator, it also impacts the seeds... and there definitely is a part of the player community that loves their seeds and sharing them... or getting pissed when their seed no longer generates the awesome features they thought they had.
I can't comment on beaches since I still can't find my way out of the jungle I currently live in.
I sent Mr. Fluffykins out to find the edge of the jungle, but he never came back
But you're right about the terrain code, every time they look at it menacingly everyone acts like Mojang killed they're family and burnt their house down.

I'm sure a lot of people wouldn't mind giving up current seeds to have more variety within every world. Right now, each seed is kind of monotonous.
He's making more of a negative impact by not doing anything about it.

I think that anyone that complains about the current terrain is just being a whiny douche. I've been playing for a year and a half, and I love every single time they change terrain generation, because it keeps the game fresh and interesting. I don't understand people who want the game to stagnate and never advance or add features.
I'm of the opinion that if you want to play the old generation, there are plenty of mods and utilities out there that will let you do that, so people need to STFU and stop giving Jeb grief about trying new things.

Someone has never actually read any of the posts. Perhaps if you gave it a chance, and not throwing any of the discussion away like a Mojang-fanboy, maybe you wouldn't say that we're whiny douches that hate the advancement of Minecraft who hate the idea of adding features. If you DID read any of them, you would have realized the changes we're suggesting will only restore very important features and add variation to the terrain. The only things we'd even think to delete would be the Extreme hills biomes and the X-hills bimoes, which will become totally useless once these hypothetical changes are made.
If we wanted old generation, we would be getting MCnostalgia, BWG, and NBXlite and just shutting up. I have NBXlite and I still endorse vanilla terrain changes. And guess what? The creator of the mod itself supports us. What does that tell you?

I agree, there is mods out that gives you the "more interesting" terrain in the classic minecraft. Besides, the terrain generation is not that boring. i have found some crazy mountains and villages. Also, people got to stop whining that notches beard is going away. Oh well, it will grow back. That is all i have to say.
either that or they're updating minecraft xbox360. i think they mislead a lot of people though.
