I would like a source to backup your statement.
To my knowledge, he never said that.
Daniel Kaplan, game designer for Minecraft, Minecraft Pocket Edition, and Minecraft XBOX 360, said, a long time ago, that it would eventually come out.
And he recently gave more precision, saying in 2012.
His twitter. He said he didn't support iOS cause he didn't use iOS. I could have mis-read the statement but I'm a little too lazy to go diving for it. Maybe I'm wrong... and on the internet, who would guess.
You guys kill me. So what if it costs $3-4 dollars? That's less than the cost of a Big Mac Meal. I've already posted my thoughts on it being free or unable to mod it (the xbox version), so I won't go there again. I just hope it comes to Apple's App Store. Will make it easy to buy, and it will be patched/upgraded automatically. Cool!
Personally, I can't see playing it on a tiny phone screen, but on an iPad-size screen? Oh yea! I only hope they make a "jump bar" on the bottom that I can hit with my thumb- the idea that someone posted about shaking an iPad to jump makes my arms tired just thinking about it.
Aw God D--- IT! Indie game my a--, Mojang has become such sellouts!
Wow. Have you never played another indie game besides Minecraft? Many of the best indie games are available for iOS already and some actually started there. :/
Considering it will likely sell for $0.99, I can't imagine they are doing it for the money. This will allow many more people to play Minecraft than before. My mum likes Minecraft but my enormous monitor makes her motion sick. The tiny screen and creative mode of PE will be just the thing.
Am I the only one on this site who actually likes Minecraft?
LOL. You'd think, huh? I've never seen so much bitching, moaning, and whining over a $12 game in my life. Boggles the mind the percentage of negative posts....
Sheesh- MC is coming out not only on the PC, but xbox, Android, IOS. MC for (almost) everybody! And that's a Bad Thing?

Again, you guys speak of things you know nothing about. Am I the only one on this site who actually likes Minecraft?

My new iPad 2 has a purpose!
If it supported iCloud… Make changes to world on Mac -> File is sent to iCloud -> iCloud downloads it to my iPod/iPhone -> same world on iPhone!
It will support the iPad, perhaps not natively, but it should run in that letter-boxed format that non-iPad apps run in…
It won't work on the iPhone 2G/3G OR iPod Touch 1G/2G… Even the iPhone 3GS and iPod Touch 3G might be pushing it.
