This is what will happen once Microsoft gets it's hands on Minecraft:
I'm glad that I'm not the only one who thinks Microsoft is going to change Mojang and their internal development culture.
As I've said earlier, I just hope it doesn't adversely impact the modding community, but we'll see.
On the positive side, all of these offers and new platforms for the game sort of show that Minecraft has broken through and been recognized by the game industry as a significant player.
It is a separate team porting Minecraft to Xbox 360. PC Development is going to continue as if nothing changed. I bought it for PC, but I will buy it for Xbox 360 as well, because I am a fan and not a fanboy. Never seen a bunch of people complain so bad over something that is not going to effect them the way they think it will. Look in the mirror and tell me who the fanboy is.
Notch confirms separate team is working on the Minecraft for XBOX Live Arcade.
That means the PC version will keep and stay updated. If the Xbox version gains survival Minecraft instead of Classic, that means any updates for the Xbox360 will be handled with a separate team. This addition won't delay any upcoming PC versions. Or at least, I hope.
I also think that Minecraft (or at least the Xbox Minecraft) will be changed so much... I hope that's not going to happen.
1: Notch might stop development for the computer version
2: Xbox Fanboys will act like their the best players and that the PC and Mac users players are "Noobs"
3: Notch might make Minecraft like almost every other Xbox game. The Xbox Minecraft might have guns and vehicles , wonderful graphics, and Multiplayer like Modern Warfare, but hopefully it doesn't
I think we Should Protest the Xbox Version, so we should create a boycott, and not buy the Xbox version. I hope you agree with me.
Notch, what have you done... :dry.gif:

I don't know what you're worried about, more players buying the game means more money for notch, more money means more updates, more updates means a better Minecraft experience. Also, whats the big deal if it goes to console? I think it'd be great! You're acting like a spoiled child, saying minecraft is for PC/mac only. Why not let it branch out? It would be better for all gaming parties to experience the magic of minecraft. and who knows, maybe the halo/COD fans might get into minecraft without being complete asses?
Anyway, calm your tits.
...Okay,
A. There's already a lot of kids playing minecraft.
B. There's already a lot of xbox owners (like me) playing minecraft
and
C. You are acting like fanboys by complaining that everyone that isn't you is a fanboy.
D. A lot of games are made multiplatform in development, and those turn out just fine.
E. Minecraft is great. Why keep it to yourselves?
F. Minecraft doesn't use THAT many buttons, it would translate well to a controller.
G. I use a 360 controller with Xpadder to play minecraft sometimes. I'm was raised on the NES, you know?
H. It won't be more tiresome to use a controller, since there would be less movement.
I.I've only encountered a handful of kids on Xbox Live, and they weren't too unreasonable. They didn't grief at every second. That honour belongs to the adults.
J.The lack of servers may turn out to be helpful, if they put up minecraft dedicated servers.
L. they have not announced a GOSH-DARNED thing yet, so be reasonable at wait.
Honestly, it's so exasperating I had to make an account just to say that.
Just saying but most things come out for the 360 first, then they release it for the PS3 later. I'm glad they are releasing it for the 360 first. And the people they have working on the port are the same people that ported Oblivion to PS3. So Minecraft will come to PS3 eventually. Yay, I get to play on my 360 more often!!! I am not a fanboy, I play more on the PS3 then on the 360.
1- Minecraft coming to Xbox is a HUGE anouncement
2- For the PS3 fanboys, just wait, maybe there will be minecraft for your console, but the PS3 is very reserved when it coimes to independent games
3- (this is me talking)I DO own a Xbox, but I do NOT own Kinect, Is there a chance that the game will be controlled with the originl controller?
4- The Xbox fanvboys will NOT ruin THIS forum, they will probably haveone for the Xbox
So... Are we clear??
Minecraft is advancing, so you should be glad.
I agree with you. Especially with PS3 being reserved a lot (previous experiences with PS3). Yes, you will be able to use the original 360 controller to play Minecraft. It would be very unfortunate if it was just for the Kinect cause me and you don't have one!
Am I the only one who feels like the MC release has great potential to be like Sonic 06?
Sonic 06 was pushed for release (for the holidays of course) and in turn left with tons of horrible glitches and overall flaws.
The PC version of Minecraft doesn't seem close to being done imo. There's just thousands of things that could be added to the game. It doesn't seem complete to me at all. Yet, they want to get an entire Xbox release out by this winter?
the term "xbox fanboy" is vary stario type if i found the forums jest cus i thought minecraft looked fun and then i bought it saying "Yay i got the game" and WHY IN THE HELL would notch stop development of Pc and Mac version i agree with bandofbrothers DID YOU READ THE FRIGGIN THREAD!
When minecraft Goes to Xbox, will i be able to play multiplayer? or do i have to have Xbox Premeium?
BTW, Nice job Notch.
If you mean Xbox LIVE GOLD, then for Online multiplayer you'll need it, I'm guessing. That's usually how Microsoft does it.
As far as LAN multiplayer goes, I'm assuming you won't even need a LIVE account other than your Xbox Gamer Profile... provided there is Local/LAN capability for multiplayer.
ugghhh i dont want to play it on kinecttt i just want to play it on the xbox with a REGULAR CONTROLLER. and besides, isnt there already a version just like minecraft thats on the marketplace called fortress craft? AND WHATS THIS I HEAR ABOUT A MOBILE VERSION??!!? FOR WHAT SYSTEM??!?!
i dont see why everyone is so angry about this. minecraft for xbox will be different from the computer version. probably no mods or texture packs. updates will probably still happen. if people were to get pissed from the bad graphics (which is why i didnt buy the game at first) then they wont buy it after seeing a preview... the majority of halo and cod fans will probably not even care for the game. even if they did buy it i bet they would not play it alot. i am looking forward for a great kinect compatible game. there is a game called fortress craft, a complete ripoff of minecraft in the indie games but you can only build. it gives you less than creative mode.

Minecraft is for the xBox because from what i have heard, microsoft bought out minecraft and they are allowing MC for the xbox*epic* and not the PS3*fail*...besides only a few good games on PS3 and they wind up being hacked by some 15 year old without a life and would you rly want MC to be hacked and possibly removed from ANY console?

Version 2.1 now updated for MC 1.6.2

I AGREE MAN PLUS BETTER RESOLUTION!!!!!
Why are you disappointed in Notch.
