Notch got drunk and then MinecraftChik or someone else (in order to keep their job) told Notch bad (possibly made up) stuff about the Yogs so that when\if they complained about organisation problems Notch could just **** it all over them and say that they were acting like assholes.
But knowing Notch, he didn't keep this to himself and just posted it on twitter (possibly while still a bit drunk or having a bad hangover) and it all lead to this.
So yeah, I think the argument is closed because there is no proof, but while Notch was acting very child like, Yogs made an official statement that they forgive notch and that it was a misunderstanding and that they are not blaming Notch.
They may be pulling it out of their arses but because there is no proof (and probably never will be).
In the end their statement looked much more official and calm witch gave them much more credibility.
Wow, "fair enough" is his only response? What a complete ass. How about "Hey, I'm sorry for lying about these things. I'll tell whoever is DDOS'ing your livelihood to please knock it off. Next time I take to Twitter, the guy I hired for PR will check it first to let me know I'm not going to make a jackass of myself."
Notch is an arrogant ego tripping scumbag, borderline psychopath really, who has caused a **** storm.
And you're stupid. Oh wait, that's just an opinion, so does it matter? Nope!
Lol!
Get some facts and discuss better next time, mate. Express your opinion, but don't insult anyone, yes? You're only embarrassing yourself with those silly words.
Oh, lawd.
Notch got his information secondhand. Of course he didn't lie, he was told that Yogscast did all those naughty things.
Indeed, which is why he is not saying that he is lying. He was most likely told about what the Yogscast was doing, or maybe even saw some things himself, thus he is able to say those things and not be lying because he was told about it from another person.

This is why twitter doesn't work for this brand of discourse. I'm sure you are right, 100% so. However, there is still that niggling question. Not only did he not say that originally, to the point of using direct statements, but he has yet to come out saying that those were claims from others in any way shape or form.
On top of that, we've now got the Mojang twitter responding with a "We found it difficult to work with the Yogscast" rather than supporting the Yogscast Notch's line that the Yogscast were flat out out of line at the convention.
People on your end of the spectrum are all too happy to assume the worst of the Yogscast and best of Notch, why not call for him to actually explain himself rather than continuing to toss more assumptions around?

I think that while he's trying to say he's not lying (and I remember him saying he was going to be in a long flight), he may have not had time to tell a long story or to ask the people that told him the information.. maybe even waiting for a reply! And remember, the Yogscast took (2?) day(s) to reply, so I would give Notch the same time to be fair.
Mojang itself has a Twitter? Can't seem to find it.. I know that in a first minecon with bad organization, confusion and frustration is everywhere. People will blame this and that, agree and disagree, vent on others with hurtful words, you get the idea, I'm sure.
I don't need to hate Notch or Yogscast, actually. I can feel what I want, and help people to see Notch and the Yogscast's side of the story if I'd like to. You don't have to believe me, you don't have to even pay attention to me.
That's also why I throw the "I think" or "I'm guessing", because then people can't tell me that I'm lying or telling the truth.

Also, the Yogscast replied the moment they could stating they would release a full reply later. If Notch's twitter ramblings have any legitimacy, then so does Yogscast initial reply. Further example of beliving the best in Notch but worst in Yogscast. Notch has also released several statements (again, more twitter for what its worth) since the Yogscast reply as well, including those directly to it, so why must we wait for Notch to reply further? He hasn't even expressed that he will explain himself down the road, I could be happy with that much.

Just because I like to defend Notch (since so many people are taking him the wrong way), doesn't mean I dislike Yogscast. I am a worthy Yogscast fan, but I don't need to defend them now as they have done a great job explaining themselves.
It's great to see that the MojangTeam will be speaking to them directly about this situation, so I think that this is pretty pointless to be honest. I'll be waiting on how they'll settle this, as it likely seems that it was Mojang itself that was bothered, not just Notch.

So you're prefectly happy to let this all be resolved behind the scenes while the Yogscast get destroyed by the bad press they've received over it? You do realize that for some of the Yogscast crew this is their job right? If Notch's statements are true/fair/valid/whatever then the Yogscast deserve what they get, but if not then as long as this stays publicly unresolved then its just going to hurt their prospects of working with other organizations for other work. Normally its not a problem because there is a consensus reached behind the scenes before the news is released, or it becomes a court case which has a level of protection inherent to the process, but thanks to Notch they're now in this situation.

The two groups know the situation full well and 100% better than us, so yes, they can handle it themselves directly. I'm sure the Yogscast will tell their fans once it's resolved, but I'm not sure how Mojang will. I would rather see "It ended well and we made up" rather than nothing. So yes, I do have a different opinion on this. c:
Before he apoligized, notch said when someone asked him why he lie'd he said "I did not lie" so i dont know but even if it was stress related, it is still a horrible thing to do because the yogscast have lost tons of subscribers, and most wont come back because they might not ever see the truth.
Everyone, ease up on Notch, alright? He's just one man who was tired and stressed. It certainly didn't help that as soon as yogscast fans learned he was talking about the duo, they sent hate mail almost instantly. So don't rant on about Notch being a "liar," as spreading information that you can't prove is true or false isn't lying. Rumor spreading, maybe, but not lying. And don't rant on about fans either, as it just provokes them, like trying to put out a fire with gunpowder.
Innocent until PROVEN guilty.
Evidence supporting Yogcast's claim: video evidence, character references from people at Minecon
Evidence supporting Notch's claim: None
With no evidence to back him up, Notch has essentially committed slander (or is it libel for Twitter? Who knows...) That's what spreading information that you cannot prove to be true or false is... ESPECIALLY when by making these (false) accusations you are directly impacting on the victim's finances (and you're inciting your basement dwelling script-kiddie fan base to commit illegal DDoS attacks, and verbally assault them at the airport)
It doesn't matter how tired and stressed he may or may not have been, Notch dun goof'd and he deserves all the grilling he gets and will continue to get until he comes clean, the facts are out in the open for everyone to see and this whole ordeal can finally be over and done with.
"Fair enough (in a positive way)" and "Dirty Laundry" apologies aren't going to cut it.

Not someone, it was three people. (;
It was that person's fault for believing Notch and not taking Yogscast's need of time in consideration.
In other words, not a true fan.

More war then discussion. :tongue.gif: Actually your right. Lets see if people stop fighting and discuss it properly.
EDIT: Oh >_< guess not. Someone will likely flame the guy behind me XD
Hush you! Someone might flame you......
Lol im just kidding. Yogscast was on a plane, and notch probably did that so people wouldnt troll him further.
And you're stupid. Oh wait, that's just an opinion, so does it matter? Nope!
