I have played the game for a long time and it was good until 1.6.6 now its all down hill.Jeb what are you doing to the game, adding now mod and all thais **** what 1.2 comes out and the iron things are in I im nover playing it every agine.Mogang plz help the game get noch back.
Let's play a game about how many people really care if you're going to take your business elsewhere.
Hint: Not Mojang.
No company really gives two ****s about if you stop playing their game. You bought it already [Probably], and they don't really offer refunds.
Also, you're late to the party. It's been common knowledge that Jeb and Jon are planning to connect the modding community with Minecraft even more.
P.S: Pretty much every major feature added was already done in a mod. But considering how much power modders have, it's irrelevant to state this. But there are some times when they specifically use mods. Ala pistons.
IMO Minecraft needs more focus on biomes in general. Biome-specific resources beyond special trees and sandstone, biome-specific "meat animals," biome-specific village designs (especially in deserts and dense forests, hopefully we'll get treetop villages a la Lothlorien and sandstone towns). It also needs the Villager model changed (ENOUGH ALREADY!) and Miner Villagers (Non-Abandoned Mineshafts FTW!) that bring iron ingots to the Smithy, not to mention Farmers actually HARVESTING THE DARNED CROPS and making bread.

SPACES between two sentences! It burns to look at!
So many grammar, spelling, and usage skill errors! It melts my brain just thinking about it...
ON TOPIC:
The new snapshot is pretty cool, though why not just give the villagers something? Instead of hiding behind this cast iron cave dwelling squidwards.
If they are going to uppercut, they need to make them blast off to infinity and beyond! Like Team Rocket in Pokemon! :biggrin.gif:
Clicking this dragon here will help it grow! Imagine that! :I BTW Xephonos, my other dragon, grew up! I shall update my avatar every week with new dragon eggs and such, so be sure to click!
I'd like to see someone rule 34 my avatar. hur hur hur
I have seen Posts about the cave bug. That bug could be a blessing for custom map makers. Decent worlds and you can make your own caves w/o worry of stray caves destroying your creation or getting in your way.
If this post helped, please click the little green plus in the bottom-right corner of this post, to give me a bit more of a reputation. I am not just asking for it unfairly, only click it if I helped.
Lighting in new chunks is still glitched, although it goes away when the chunk's lighting is recalculated :
before torch
after torch : error is still there but less visible
after placing and removing a block at the edge of the area : error is gone
Just wondering about this particular test shot: Is this on a fresh build or pulling in a world file from a previous snapshot? Yes, it does make a difference as light levels are stored in the save file.
Regardless, there is some need for these bugs to be fixed. The real issue is how this will perform with existing maps derived from 1.1, as well as fresh maps from this build.
Mining for ores is the least interesting part of the game, and has the fewest uses. Why do you want it?
There are many different ways to play Minecraft. Some players just happen to love digging into the ground and discovering veins of ore. That has also been a part of the game since nearly the very beginning so it is very much relevant to a game called "Minecraft"... that has mining as a key aspect of the game.

Why's this a negative thing? People say "I want X" someone codes "X", people go "yay" and download mod X. Mojang says "wow, a lot of people really want something like X"... and adds it in. Because it's what people want. And that way if mod X is not updated, or neglected, people still have it.
In any event, I'm happy as a clam with this. I think people need to remember that these are snapshots--works in progress, not final images. There's no doubt a 'to do list' with many ideas sitting on it... and bugs are to be expected. If you want relatively bugless play, go play one of the release versions.
and have a look at this bit of logic. You go "boo hoo hoo, why do we need golems"... well, have a peek:
Monster AI is updated. Creates now act differently then their standard "get close, and hit player". This includes pathfinding, self preservation and oher ideas. as a part of this, I'd bet the zombies attacking villages thing was added in 'for fun' and because people complain about villages being dull and pointless. Now there's something interesting that happens there. Unfortunately, it can kill off all of your villagers. So, villagers need to reproduce (check) and defend themselves (hiding in houses... check, oh wait, zombies will knock down doors...) and you need a defensive mob--the golem. Work on the golem couldn't be finished without ensuring that the zombies had the proper behavior without them. so it makes sense to do zombies then golems.
Alright, so there's that bit of logic... the question now clearly for us, as players, is .. what next? My guess is that one of the next steps involves giving villagers more purpose.
as for the pleas of "more ore, more miging" have a loot at this bit. they've been working on this new world storage system that allows for MANY more block types. .... just saying, that (which I guarantee was complicated and has been in the works for quite a while.. including this week) makes it possible. So it won't surprise me to see it happen sometime in the near future.
These are building blocks to more. Look: Ocelots spawn only in jungles. They've got that working. Which means they can add other biome-specific mobs. They've put out two new mobs over the last few snapshots. They're clearly aiming that way. people jsut gotta remember that these things take time and programming is not simply going "spawn golem. Golem kills zombies." or "spawn copper ore. Use copper in recipes, lol" it's complicated stuff
have faith y'all and be patient. and if you have any good ideas, mention them
xD The new patch could come with complimentary prostitutes and 20 dollar refunds (making it almost free) and it would never be good enough for some people. I do like this snap, just like the previous 7. It's more flavorful content and things we've wanted for a long time. Atleast the response wasn't as grotesque as the LoL sesspool during each new patch.
Does anyone else see a resemblance between the village golem and the Laputa Sentinel? Especially when it holds out flowers. As for the update as a whole, they need to hurry up and get villages finished, so some more work can be put into the sandbox building elements of the game. i.e. more redstone machines/components, Minecart functions, maybe even a new ore

Cool, I have been hoping for more golems, especially since I was disappointed with snow golems. Also as for what ColbyWolf said, I agree and hope that this means more ores, stones, and uses for blocks (like fences stairs ect...).

upside down stairs are cool. you know what would be really cool? upside down redstone torches. travelling redstone downwards is such a pain. and as for that golem.. .wtf. cool, but i will feel no compasion to villagers untill they do things. and does the golem try to kill you if you steal from the farms or the forge chest?
that would be sweeeeet
I am sorry but 2 ores in a game called "mine"craft is not "sufficient ." If you want to count the two gems (1 of which is pretty much decorative (Lapis) and the other represents the ONLY end game tool option that have been available forever then you have 4. redstone and coal to the mix and you have 6. But really that is a stretch.
Of course I want to count all of the ores -- all of these items in their block form you find in the ground are "ores". Since the point of mining is to find resources underground, then these all count as stuff you find mining. And there's already enough.
Iron: The mainstay crafting ore, common and used for a ton of useful things.
Coal: Extremely common, but used for an extremely common need.
Diamond: Used exclusively for powerful tools and armor.
Gold: Formerly the 'decorative' ore, now the rarer ore used for making a few very useful things (like powered rails and gold apples)
Lapis Lazuli: The new decorative ore, since gold no longer is exclusively decorative. Having a block that's pretty, and isn't costing you making other things by using it for decoration, is great in a game that's also about building cool things.
Redstone: Amazing little ore, this, enabling one of Minecraft's best examples of complexity-from-simplicity -- whole computers made from wires and NOR gates.
So, what exactly do we need more ores for? We've covered all the bases from crafting to computing to simply making **** look awesome, to letting you dig up new stuff as efficiently as possible.
What is copper going to add to the game? What is it going to be for, and why can't that use iron or gold instead? How is it fundamentally different? You've implied you want it to be even more common than iron, so, nothing as good as what iron is used for? Awesome!
What is another end-game option for tools going to add? "Oh it's diamond but stronger." Wow, that really added a lot to the game! Or maybe it's a little more durable, but mines less quickly. So... diamond only slightly different. Yeah now my mining experience is really enriched.
We already have 4 levels of tools that are identical except for their speed and durability stats. More of the same is not actually more.
More variety will keep this game growing and interesting.
"More of the same because more is inherently better even if it adds nothing to the game but 'more'" is not a philosophy the makers of Minecraft share with you, and thank God for that. There are some mod makers that agree with you though, so you should check those out.
WHAT THE HELL, ever since 12w07a my singleplayer survival games are LAGGING so much its unplayable. I can play in crative mode with not much lag at all. "a smoother game experience" they say yea right. Mincraft 1.1 was and is working fine, fast and smooth for me. I HOPE they will fix this LAGGING problem soon its so fustrating. I shouldent have to tweek my computer to make it work when Mincraft 1.1 runs great. its bs. Please fix that.
After trying this snapshot and going back to 1.1 now my minecraft is laggy. I bought a new computer to stop lag, and now my minecraft is screwed up. I HATE snapshots now. Any tips? My laptop is so laggy now :sad.gif:

do the golems spawn automatically? or do you have to do something special to make them spawn?
