To all those having problems installing this:
Just like any other pre release if you download this and it renames to minecraft (1).jar or something like that on a windows system (because you have other minecraft.jar in the download location) just rename it mincraft.jar then copy and replace it should work fine.
i noticed when i thew 2 eggs i got 4 baby chicks thats better than the old way.
and i think all of the blocks in your inventory slots have shading on them, dunno if that was already in the game.
oh and the eating sound scared me :S
and you can now pick how much particles there are.
and every time you receive fall damage it sounds like you break your leg
Who else has a panic attack when the broken tool noise plays.
Yeah, I jumped the first couple times my tools broke. I kind of like that, because I think Minecraft works best when it's scary and unpredictable. But what really scared the hell out of me were the Endermen...AAAHK!!
I started with Minecraft back in 1.3_01 and since then I've kept a backup copy of every new version. I still use some of those old versions for various reasons.
I don't even HAVE RC2 yet and those new sounds have infected all of those old versions!
I was NOT asked for permission to change or download any files, they were simply downloaded quietly without so much as an "oh, by the way, we're changing your minecraft sounds."
When I play the older versions I want them to SOUND like the older versions. It's actually important for the correct feel for certain video series I'm working on.
Up until now Minecraft has always been polite and asked permission to update anything. WHY this sudden change?!?
More importantly, HOW do I get the original sounds back in those older versions WITHOUT hunting for and installing a mod?!??? Nothing against mods but I prefer no-mod vanilla. Besides which, I doubt seriously anybody's gonna go making new mods for all versions from 1.3_01 (and probably earlier for many people) to 1.8.1 to 1.9pr5

Hi, the minecraft sounds you hear are in the resources folder and when you logged in connecting to the minecraft servers it did a little green bar or something barley noticeable and may have changed the resources folder, or DID.
But anywho i wouldn't doubt there will be someone with the old sounds posting that soon, or you can try and Google the sounds and see what you can find.
Image 1: Spider and creeper minutes after I created the world on the surface
Image 2: Scary that creepers and co. don't want to attack in creative
Image 3: Ladder from one angle
Image 4: No Ladder from another... wierd
Image 5: People are saying how much smoother RC2 runs... 52% CPU and 1.1GB RAM used = Xtremely slow. 1.8.1 runs at a third of that.
Like this but haven't tested "Baby sheep inherit the color of their parents, including any dye you use on their parents! Also, not sure if this was in Pre6 and previous, but you can craft a pumpkin into 4 pumpkin seeds."

Yeah? izzat so? somebody's gonna make a mod for 1.3_01? yeah. right. I'll believe that one when I see it.
Besides, I DO NOT WANT a mod. I just want the original sound files back.
Minecraft *SHOULD* have asked permission before downloading and installing them! Especially on ANY version prior to the one that the sounds are supposed to apply to!!

well someone could for the "current" jar and i didn't really mean for 1.3_01.....but if that is too complicated for you then download an old resource file with the old sounds....does that make you happy?
And im not gonna go thru the minecraft terms but i'm sure anywhere in there it says that they can do that considering you are logging onto their servers and they updated them to have new sounds which to work on your client side jar needed some new files.
Now me i have the old sounds backed up :laugh.gif:

Or you can simply stop being so childish and start getting used to it. It is the future, and I'm pretty sure people won't be able to play too old versions forever (as long as they are connected to the internet).
I found that it might crash when you try to load a 1.8 save.
What's awesome about that is that I probably have to play the game from scratch in order to test it properly now. :sad.gif:
Looks like my old worlds will have to go to waste.
Additionally, I can understand the need to remove the grunt noise as your player falls. We have female player skins (as well as aliens) of course, so a male grunting noise isn't so great.
If they're going to add all these extra sounds, how about a clanging sound when you hit a mob (does it in silence currently), and how about some noise when you (or a mob) drop from a height? That would be fun. (wheeeeee.... crunch!)
Still haven't played any pre-releases.
Not playing RC2.
Judging by what I've observed, I'm going to be absolutely overwhelmed by all the new stuff when full release is out, am I right?
Rollback Post to RevisionRollBack
Creeper in the waterfall. CREEPER IN THE WATERF--AAAAAH!!!!

Check your downloads folder and search minecraft.jar
i did not know this was out

Here's my old signature. Maybe I'll make a new one at some point...
Thanks For Your Time

They aren't FINISHING minecraft, just removing the beta sign, that's literally it, final release isn't final at all basically

it's a bug or natural?
