wait wait wait! where the hell does notch himself(not the new moderator) state that there will be permadeath?
i did not read any of that on notchs quote... loosing the things in your inventory has been in the game since dying i guess, you just have to go and pick them up again.
leveling your xp back to full will be np i guess, since you will earn it while doing the normal stuff, he even mentioned to reduce leveling time if its too long.
so please could anyone give me a source where notch HIMSELF stated the implementation of permadeath? because Mr. Persson aint stupid and he knows that people are really attached to their worlds and dont want to loose them...
permadeath... seriously guys get a grip.(and i mean the community, not mojang!)
I do not really like this. I play Minecraft because I like building. If this gets in the way of that, I may lose interest in the game. I hated WoW for it's mindless "grinding," and I hope this "leveling" in Minecraft doesn't become the same way.

You know, I've been thinkin'. You know when life gives you lemons? Don't make lemonade. Get mad! Get angry! Give the lemons back! Demand to see life's manager! Say, "I don't want your damn lemons!" BURN his house down, with the lemons!
Seems like it would be easy enough to have the death penalties increase/decrease along with the difficulty slider, or give it a sepperate option all its own. If you are exploring deep and lose track of your place it is already very easy to lose all of your stuff so making death more harsh is something I don't think is needed.
Anyway, it isn't like there won't be mods that change it. Seems like enough people are against it that someone will make a mod.
dont sound ignorant, nothign si wrong with the leveling system, its just going to enhance your crit hits, and its not WOW, and even so nothign is wrong with WOW, seriously all the people who are whinning need to shut up and just w8 and see not assume and whine
Sorry, but remembering all the many, many people who have said that RPG elements "won't work for Minecraft" and how would never add them...well, yeah. The news speaks for itself. No trolling necessary on my part. I find that very funny. Hilarious even.
Personally, I'm looking forward to this even more now. It's going to be FUN!
Permadeath just means you lose your experience when you die, you wont lose your world.it doesn't need to be toggleable,or modded out..
Its bold and underlined, so people can see it.
lol, nice try with your naked-lindsey.com link. You know, 90% of the time if you use google translate english to english on those websites, everything will be unlocked, right?
Buddy permadeath is not what its called if you had read the main topic u would have understood that it means u die oh no i lose my level and my stuff is scattered on the floor oh noes.. the leveling system i supposed to be FUN and FAST so you could get your level back as wuick as you could get your stuff back ...
I can see where leveling might be "fun" the first few times but after say the 20th or 30th death from which you have to re-grind your way through the levels back to where you were, it's going to become tedious and annoying as all hell.
Because your old character dies and you respawn as someone else?
You are a different person each time you die, hence the level purge.
In other words, your old char permanently died, not the world. It makes sense since if some random person died in real world, obviously the whole world won't die with him.
That explanation makes sense at least.
It's also another reason why I want to be able to turn this "feature" off *without* resorting to peaceful mode.

Then don't die. You've nailed the entire purpose of adding levels to this game: To make death as undesirable as possible. Give the player something to lose and make it hard to regain and you have players playing safer because they don't want to spend the time to regain what they lost.
I know for sure is that I am god modding if this is not toggleable.
He's also adding a separate classic minecraft for the game, with no dying, infinitte blocks and all that..
And hopefully there will be a toggle switch for this in ssp, though it looks cool and
█▀▀█ He made it so you couldn't have more than two lines in a signature.
