I'm quite curious about other people's opinion about the new world type: 'Amplified', and do more people play in 'Amplified aswell?

I started a new survival world yesterday with the world type set to amplified. I must say that I really prefer survivalling in amplified than standard. All the biomes turn hilly what makes the fun even better. It also really challenging!

I'm currently building a big house with a tower in my world. It's not even close to done:

Post your 'amplified' experiences and what's your opinion about it?

Just yesterday, I made an amplified hardcore world. It really is challenging moving around and finding food, but that just makes it more fun! I've found a stack of iron already, as well as horse armor and saddles. I haven't found any horses yet, but when I do they'll make movement a lot easier. I've almost fallen a few fatal drops already; I can't wait until I can enchant my boots with feather falling.

Indeed. I've already died twice. I drowned in an ocean, because they are now deeper but also just because I was stupid. I felt from a mountain too, could've been avoided. It's indeed much harder to find food. Feather Falling sounds like a great idea! I haven't done lots of mining yet.

It goes all the way to y=256 I think. There are lots of flying islands and extremely high mountains in this seed, so cool!

Amplified terrain is only laggy upon initial generation, you don't need to worry.

Yeah, I only had lagg during the first minutes of the world generating the chunks. I'm really in love with the terrain!

Oddly, I get double the fps I get on normal worlds in amplified..

My FPS is only like 20, but I guess Ill try it.

I made a house on a floating island then I fell to my death. AMPLIFIED is full of giantic mountains, there isn't even a plain place. Even though sometimes AMPLIFIED lags, it's a really cool type of world!

It looks like fun!

You might as well try.

You only have lagg in the beginning when the chunks are getting generated. After that's done, you have the same fps rate as usual again.

I like amplified a lot, but my computer seems to disagree.

It looks awesome, but really hard to survive on. It takes forever to generate terrain on my computer, sadly.

Amplified is amazing. Best addition yet.

Is amplified a completely separate world type or can you get Amplified biomes in a existing world? This is my first view of 1.7.2 from an existing world.


I just checked your seed out and Amplified is amazing.

I like it, but I think the edges need to be smoothed out to be less like extreme hills. It could still be amplified to heights but without it being cliffs... think, large mountains, fewer cliffs. Here is a village I found nestled along a cliff side, note the location of the clouds.

I spawned in a giant desert, with random floating sandstone islands... Those suckers are like 70 blocks higher than the ground. Certainly going to be interesting to get up there and see what's what.

Amplified is pretty amazing,but I wish they add Amplified Large Biome to it,because I usually play on Large Biome.Amplified using normal biome size,but I am very enjoying that world type much.
