HO MY GOD This is great your have to keep this going i whant to know what to do next.
hear some building library, casino, Musaeum, school, university, church, castle, + much much more.
Well church is taken care of and I don't know about a castle because it is after all a modern building challange. But thank you so much for the building suggestions! These could really help me out! I have a couple more tiers on mind now.

I have a recommendation for tier 4. Since you need to build a theatre i recommend letting people use iron but only to make shears because i don't think that you would want to kill lots of sheep and not be able to get them back and since animals don't respawn anymore it would be a pain in the butt to go searching for sheep especially if your world doesn't have many.

That's a good idea. I made this origanally before that update came out.
cool me and my cos is on my server doing it come and have a look 94.6.233.85
ps. my server off now it will be back on at 12 EST. UK Time
Ok. I'd love to know when it's back online. My minecraft name is jailen by the way. Also, do you run the sever through LAN connection? If so it needs to be on something else otherwise it'll be really laggy and my even crash when I log on. I live in australia so... yeah... (you know, we are going to have horrible connection if you live on mars...) (joking by the way, i'm not that much of a maniac)
If you need more ideas, tell them to build like an office building(s), like skyscrapers and stuff. Or a penthouse, or a hotel, or a restaurant, blacksmith, the list goes on.... Don't stop yet!

STORY : The Begining... "What happened?" "Where am I?" "I don't see anyone else here..." "Am I the only survivor?" "I feel soo dizzy... Ugh..." I blacked out. I had a dream about what happened and how i got here. I saw myself in a plane, with my family. Oh my. What happened to my family? Did they all land in this world? Anyways.... I heard an explosion..... Then an annoucner came over on the intercom.. "One of our engines has blown... were going down.." Within a minute, I woke up. "No!" "I want to know what happened to my family!" Oh well I guess. "I should just stay where I am and wait for a rescue plane." After waiting for an hour, I realized I might be the only one here... "I should probably get a shelter going, who knows what goes around out here."
TIER 1 : [spoiler]
"I could use these trees to make a shelter out of."
"Hm. Lots of animals i may have to use for food later.." "I almost don't want to though, they are so cute!"
"This is a pretty good frame for my house, but I better keep building, before it gets dark."
"Good thing my shelter is done.. The sun is setting...."
"What are those, locals?" "I'm gonna keep away from them, they may be hostile."
"can't sleep... no bed..."
"Seems they left... Good."
Finished first house.
Living room.
Bedroom. (No bed )
[/spoiler "Maybe I should try to make tools...." To be continued...
I grew up in a vast city, known throughout the world as a thriving, prosperous hub of commerce. Almost no one outside the city borders knew the truth- that the city and its prosperity was built on the backs of its poor, working class citizens, none of whom ever saw a reward for their years of hard work. I lived alone with my mother, who tried as hard as she could to give me a happy chldhood in spite of our destitute way of living. She told me of lands far away, that were fertile and green and untouched by mankind and its greed. By the time I came of age, it had become clear to me that I would never be able to make a better life for myself in this city. Early one morning, before the sun had risen, I left my mother a letter and the little money I'd saved and set out for those green, untouched lands. I promised to build a new city far away, where all people could be equal and gain happiness from their own work. Only when I succeeded would I return for her.
Part I: In the Beginning
So here's my attempt at the Modern World Building Challenge! It took me about two hours to complete the first stage- I probably could have done it a lot quicker, but I always try to make my buildings pretty even though I had limited options to do so at this stage of the challenge. My version of the challenge is somewhere between Easy and Normal- I'm playing on Peaceful (might turn monsters on later for more resources), but I'm getting all my resources legit and playing by the tier system. Another challenge I'm imposing on myself is that because my character cares a lot about treating others as equals, she refuses to kill animals or eat any meat. Instead she will be living among them as friends Hostile mobs (once they're turned on) are still fair game, and she'll still go fishing for the sake of obtaining cats (eating fish is still a no-no though). She's not vegan, so milk and cake are still ok. Also, she can still pick up drops if any animals die accidentally from fall damage or other mobs, and any meat obtained this way can count towards the food requirements in the later tiers. She just can't eat it. I'll probably tweak the food requirements to make that part easier as well (instead of 10 cooked meats it'll be 10 more pieces of bread or 5 cakes or something).
And now for screenshots! There aren't many this time because I don't usually take screenshots while playing so I tend to get absorbed and forget about taking them. The imgur album is here.
After several days' journey, I find myself in a forest rich in greenery, flowers, wildlife, and the cleanest air I have ever smelled. Somewhere around here would be the perfect place to settle down.
I eventually decide on this beautiful clearing surrounding a pond. The trees will provide more than enough wood, and I can see clay and stone in the bottom of the pond. I can use these to create stronger building material once I figure out how to make the appropriate tools and a fire.
After building part of my house, I decide to set out to explore my surroundings and gather more resources. I eventually find a jungle with trees even larger than the ones in my home forest. Just one of these trees would give me a wood supply comparable to a dozen of the ones back home. I climb the vines to the top of one of the trees and begin cutting my way down.
From high up on the tree, I can see what looks like a small civilization! I had no idea any people lived all the way out here, or why they would build their town in a desert with green land in sight. I finish harvesting the tree as quickly as I can so I can investigate the village.
The people of the village live primitively and do not speak the same language that I do, but they seem friendly. After wandering about the village to gain insight for my own survival, I walk back to my home forest.
OOC: This is actually the second village I found! Looks like I got lucky with the seed for this challenge. The other village had a blacksmith's chest with an iron pickaxe and six iron ingots. This is where I found myself in a bit of an ethical conundrum. The rules say you can make shears as soon as you find iron, but I was also not supposed to use tools at all in this stage. However, I needed shears to make the required bedroom because I can't deliberately kill sheep. So I broke the rules a teensy bit to make shears and gather enough wool for a bed and then I put the iron and the pickaxe away until I'm allowed to use them.
It takes a bit of work, but I finally finish the first floor of my house. Satisfied with my progress, I go out to continue exploring the land.
After a mere few hours of travel, I find an open pool of lava! I'd never seen this much of it in real life before, so it was quite a sight to behold. It looks dangerous, so I turn back to go finish building.
It takes time, but my house is finally finished. I go inside and use my remaining materials to make furnishings.
It's a little gloomy on the inside. I'll have to start working on windows and light fixtures soon.
After a lot hard work, I finally have time to sleep. I will sleep soundly knowing that today has only been the beginning.
And that was the first stage c: Once again, I could've completed this stage a lot more easily if I'd wanted to- but instead I decided to spend time wandering so I could find a jungle (my texture pack's jungle wood makes really pretty ceilings) and sheep. There weren't any sheep near my spawn point, but there were plenty of cows, pigs, and chickens. I'm pretty happy with my work overall though. This is a great challenge, I look forward to working more on it!
Challenge Accepted !
I just started it and i will be uploading pictures!
So far i am still in tier 1.
BUT!I killed a zombie that dropped an iron sword. Can i use it?

Hmmm... I think according to my rules you wern't actually meant to get one until later and that zombie dropped one so... youmight have to put it in storage... or maybe not...
I have done a little bit more - started building the doctor's surgery and fire station - both in stone brick
I have also fenced off my lumber mill area and attracted some sheep and chickens inside the fence. I just re-read the main post and noticed I could make shears ASAP (but not use other iron until Tier 5)... will be doing that, I think, as I have been breeding the sheep and killing them off - VERY slow trying to build beds.
Also upgrade my houses a little - cobble floors and other minor adjustments

Reminds me a little of "City Construction" but this doesn't have as many stages. I should try this, as soon as I finish D1amondF1st's Island Contest
It is still being worked on and will have many stages to come!

I spawned into a snow biome, and almost deleted and restarted, but decided I would give it a go anyway.
