As we all know, Cocoa Beans are a LOT easier to get. From just a dozen trees in a jungle, you can get a full stack of them to make all the cookies you want, and Jungles aren't even that rare, making Cookies very easy to get now, so it makes sense that cookies only heal two food points (one if you count by wholes). However, it annoys me that in Dungeons, cocoa beans are still so rare that you only get on average one or two per chest, when all you have to do is find a Jungle to get all you could ever want.
Does anyone else agree? I feel like Cocoa Beans should be replaced with something else in Dungeon Chests.
I've been thinking for a while that we could do with one or two unusual or rare items for dungeon chests. I'm not a particularly hard-core player, but even I have more saddles than I know what to do with... A few spots of redstone, or a couple of loaves of bread isn't really appealing either.
The last dungeon I found, yesterday or the day before, I left everything that was in the chest, but took all the mossy cobble...

Exactly. I wish there were unique items that you can only find in dungeons. Until recently, the only thing I really liked to get from Dungeons was Mossy Cobblestone, but now Jungles even made THAT obsolete, because you can get a full inventory of that stuff from Jungle Temples.
Edit: Also, at least we might be able to control pigs in the future. I'm tired of having practically worthless saddles. (I found three saddles in one small dungeon. Seriously. And another saddle in a different one.)
Aside from the saddle, which is a joke item that doesn't help you all that much, none of the items found in dungeon chests are particularly hard to get anymore, making Moss Stone the only interesting and unique thing to get out of them. I personally never actually looked for a dungeon and mostly the few I find just happen to be there while I'm exploring cave for ores. I neutralize the spawn by putting torches and move on. We could really use stuff like enchanted tools and armor, stacks of rare construction blocks, like sponges, moss cobble, obsidian... Something rare and cool enough to be actually excited and happy to find a dungeon, instead of middly annoyed by the wave after wave of zombies coming out of it. Diamonds I think it about the only worthwhile things you can get out of them, and even then, looking for dungeons is far less effective at gathering diamonds than say, mining at y:12 with a Fortune III.
I'm all for meatier loot in dungeon chests. Stronghold and Mining shaft chests as well. Mining shaft in particular, would be could to find a chest with a bunch of premade tools in it. It would make sense too, since we are in a Mining shaft.
i hear they are going to either be changing or adding things into dungeon chests like super big enchanted stuff or something like that but who knows yet
I've seen up to 4 diamonds in a dungeon chest, which was a big bonus since it was my first night and i was only mining to kill time. It also had 6 iron ingots and 4 bread Then a creepers came to blow up and my stuff falls into fire :/

Diamonds cannot spawn in a dungeon chest. Are you sure you aren't thinking of mineshaft chests?
Is everyone forgetting that records also spawn in dungeon chests? Saddles and records are two things that, aside from skellie creeper battles, aren't obtainable anywhere else in the game.
Some items I wouldn't mind seeing added in dungeon chests:
carrots
golden carrots (rare)
potatoes
poisonous potatoes, assuming they'll be used for brewing new potions or something (rare)
bottle of enchantment
enchantment table (fairly rare)
random low level potion
slimeballs
emerald (rare)
random enchanted armor or tool
ender pearl
Also, it would be nice if the dungeon was expanded to one single, small room to a series of rooms with traps, much like the jungle temple, but more random and with some traps.

Except I believe the only records obtainable in Dungeon chests are that orange one that only plays ambient sounds, and cat. How about putting 11 in Dungeon Chests? That'd make sense. Also, since I'm a Music Disk collector, I'd want to be able to get 11 in-game. Yes, I agree that the loot you get from Dungeon Chests should be redone. And I also agree with that one fellow that slimeballs should be found in Dungeon Chests as well, along with a lot of other things Happy Fun Ball mentioned, like Potion of Enchanting and random enchanted items.
You mean the cocoa beans aren't just meant to be a booby prize?

"Sometimes, I just wanna give up, say 'I'm done with this mess' and go to bed. But you know what; you can't shrug off your responsibilities. You got to pull yourself up and meet the challenges head on. That's the only way you're gonna get ahead in life."
i think they should make golden apples more commonly found in dungeons, and substitute cocoa beans for emeralds, c´mon emeralds are not that useful to make them as rare as they are right now !

You can get saddles from trading with villagers and only two of the music disks spawn in dungeons.

This is I think a good call. Maybe not the enchanting table, but I can't kill 250 zombies for a potato. It just ain't right.
I see no mention of diamonds generating inside dungeon chests in the source code OR the wiki. Diamonds can appear in other places, but not in dungeons, period.

They can, sorry.
Least useful things: redstone, saddles, cocoa beans.
Check out the Fantasy City Build Challenge - it's pretty amazing!
