what would be the best way to make survival mode more fun? I played with IC2,redpower2,ee2 and buildcraft but that made it WAY to easy and I want to play vanlila and beat it for real once. Plus I got the game right out of infdev.

Play it on hard IRONMAN style, on one of the hard islands.

I would try setting a goal for yourself to do in game. Like build a trap for mobs so that the game has something that you want to work toward and have fun while doing it.
