I was thinking to myself while I was playing Minecraft. I had found a skeleton dungeon and was planning to make a trap out of it. When I was looking through the chests I found 2 saddles. I thought to myself, ''These things are useless. Notch need to make a use for it other than riding pigs. But then I realized there was an achievement for riding a pig off a cliff. I was like, ''Oh yeah achievements are in the game. Who else totally forgot about em'?
I didn't forget, but I haven't...achieved them all yet. I have yet to make a fishing pole to catch fish (which I've never even found in-game), I've never made mine tracks, and I've never done the pig thingy (though I found a saddle in a dungeon). They're kind of fun for people who've never played, it lets them know when they've done something cool/worth remembering (sometimes, saddles are actually useless though...).

i always forget. But then, i'm usually too trying to forget. :dry.gif:
See, i had just updated minecraft to 1.5 (achievement update i believe) and i decided to get the "acquire hardware" achievement, which doesn't seem too hard, does it really? Well, i was wandering around, and saw a cave with a little bit of iron! i immediately ran over to it and realised i had no pickaxe. "Meh," i thought."i'll just make one quickly." BIG MISTAKE. I hear twang and see 2 hearts leave my health bar and turn around to see an angry skeleton shooting at me. i attempted to run but i was too slow and i died. When i respawned i forgot about the iron achievement, killed the skeleton and walked off. Now whenever i see iron and a skeleton together it reminds me of my bad first experience with achievements. So i guess i try to forget.

That sucks. But if you fall of the horse, you gotta get back on. XD

You craft the fishing pole, not find it. The recipe for it can be found at the minecraft wiki.

No, no no. I know I have to craft the fishing pole. I'm saying I've never found fish in-game. The only aquatic thing I've seen is the squid, unless fishing for squid gets you fish? But, yeah, I'm saying I've never found fish. o.o

Fish aren't visible in water. All you have to do is cast out into pretty much any block of water and wait for the bobber to get yanked down. It's kinda strange, but that's how it works at the moment.

WOAH, WAIT. Our eyes take pictures? Please tell me I can recover these pictures from another person.
You have to stick a thumb drive up their nose, drag and drop the pictures onto it, and then load them through your ear.
Trying to get games written for windows to work on a Linux machine is like trying to put a diaper on an incontinent buffalo. Sure, you might get it all done, but you'll certainly be left with a huge mess, and it's very time consuming.

no, with fishing you cast into water, there is no fish mob, however when the float bobs and you pull it up, a fish item is tossed towards you.

Helping raise Dragons
isn't a huge pain! Just
give 'em a click!
Ever care about them in the first place. No.
Achievements are pointless unless they actually give you something for getting them completed.

Ahhh, gotcha. Thanks, I appreciate that! I'll have to do some fishing sometime soon :biggrin.gif:
