Who Else thinks that the shears that notch added to minecraft in beta 1.7 was a bad idea. Personally i think it was a bad idea my reasonings are
1) you have to get 2 iron which means you cant reset your spawn on the first night and 2 iron you could use to make a sword
2) Wool is only useful for making beds and not much else unless your making your house carpety or whatever so it is a waste
3) They run out to fast and if you have to use 2 iron you should at least get 3 wool each time.
Please reply
you can use it to get leaves and as long as they are 4 blocks away from any wood block they stay. (planks obviously do not count.) you get more wool from sheep and the minimum is now 3 i think and my shears seem to last long. I rest my case.I also support Isil and Rauldiaz.
1) What does iron have to do with resetting your spawn? Just kill 3 sheep and BAM! you have enough wool to make a bed.
2) Yes, beds are useful and if you dont use it, why do you care if its a LITTLE harder to get?
3) So you want an infinite use shear that always gives you 3 wool? Are you in that short supply of iron?
well firstly you iron has alot to do with resetting your spawn as now it is the only way to get
more than 1 bit of wool which you can make a bed which if you sleep in it is resets your spawn
secondly beds are very useful and if you dont get one and you die without your spawn reseted it is very hard to find your ghome
And lastly i never said i wanted infinite shears that always get 3 i said that they need to last longer and get at least 2 evry time
It seems unneeded. I think it is a preemptive action to when passive mobs become more permanent.

in most seeds it will take you longer to find the iron than to kill 3 sheep
...
scratch that, unless it spawns you right the frick on surface iron it is quicker to kill 3 sheep
you could have 3 wool in 3 minutes
and why do you care how long the shears last if admittedly you only use the wool for beds, how many beds do you need.
if it really bothers you that much put the game on peaceful until you have your bed, which you should be able to make on day 1 with no excuses
thats it im doing a self imposed challenge, see how many beds i can craft before the first sunset, and i will save my vid for all future shear posts

As he said; just kill three sheep. Not that hard. And don't tell me your can't find three sheep, because if you can't do that you just suck.
Reaction to beds: OMFGASDFBBQ THESE MAKE GAME TOO EASY
Reaction to shears: OMFGASDFBBQ I CANT MAKE A BED NOW
Seriously, make up your mind.
The best part is both responses are ****ing retarded.
Response to A: Then don't use them.
Response to B: Punch Sheep.

1) You can't get much wool from killing sheep at ALL. One if you're LUCKY.
2) The WHOLE ****ING CONCEPT of sheers (Not shears) is to gather wool/leaves.
3) Iron is easy to get. Look around, find a cave. Dig.
4) Little OT, but... You're better off never even making iron swords. Both iron and stone take 3 hits to kill a hostile mob. Ie Skeletons, Creepers, Zombies, Spiders. Save the 2 iron for sheers.

So punch multiple sheep? Not like they are hard to find. Also it's "shears" not sheers
Definition of SHEER
intransitive verb
: to deviate from a course : swerve
I don't see what the big deal is. Every single argument you made in the OT is easily solved by rubbing two brain cells together, shutting off the water works, cleaning out your diaper, and getting over it.
So you have to kill 3 sheep by hand instead of punching 1-3 sheep. Whoopdy doo.
Shears are useless except for wool? Then punch 3 sheep your FIRST DAY and never make a set of shears. Not even to decorate your area with leaves. You are hereby legally obligated to grow trees to get decorative leaf placement.
As far as how long they last; if you're just shearing sheep, they last a long time. If you're plowing through leaves like a fat kid at an all you can eat buffet (I'm fat, I can make that reference), then of course they're going to degrade fast.

If you think the title and OP tells you everything you want to know about a thread, don't reply. If you want to actually read the thread and post an intelligent reply, you're welcome to it.
Shears were a good idea.
I've always wanted to get more than 3 wool from sheep.
And get leef blocks without TMI.
If you don't like them go QQ and degrade your Minecraft to 1.6

Is it so hard to punch 3 sheep to death?
See above?
Are all sheep uniform?
Kinda cool actually.
