This goes to show that it doesn't take a ton of effort to make a nice sized town. It was built in roughly 3 days on and off with 6(ish) hour work periods (I have a LOT of spare time).
This map is purely visual, the chests are all empty save for the blacksmith in the town's market.
You need a texture pack, because if you did it would look way better. Still though good 3-day build. Keep up the work.
I've tried using things like doku's texture pack in its three varieties, but none of them really give much of a variety between logs and planks, making it look like a very monochrome coloured town. The different versions only serve to make the town feel too monochrome (light), too colour deprived (dark) or just have way too much bloom and make the lower quality slum-like part of the village feel like rainbow happy land (high).
Personally I like the normal MC textures best, low quality with a sense of cartoon stlye match the world you're in perfectly.

Doku upsets me, because its so beautiful, except wood and planks look too simlar, and cobble and smooth stone look too similar. Everything is spot on, except the essentials :sad.gif:
try painterly.

I have also tried painterly, it's a nice texture pack in its own rights, but I feel like the colours are simply too mashed together, too much variation from one pixel to another. This works in its own way because things never look the same due to their extremely random pattern (grass especially), but it leaves it looking too messy, like an abstract piece of art, rather than a proper texture pack like doku (which may need a bit of work on wood/planks/cobble/stone).
